The 2016 Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer tournament was the 26th edition of the tournament. [1] It determined the Missouri Valley Conference's (MVC) automatic berth in the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship. Missouri State University hosted the tournament at Betty & Bobby Allison South Stadium on the Missouri State campus in Springfield, Missouri on November 8, 9, 11 &13, 2016.

Contents

The second-seeded SIUE Cougars won the tournament, beating the fifth-seeded Missouri State Bears 1–0 in the championship match. [2] [3] It was SIUE's second MVC championship.

In a departure from the past, all seven teams in the Missouri Valley Conference qualified for the tournament with seeding based on their conference regular season records. The two top-seeded teams received first round byes, and the two bottom-seeded teams met in a play-in game. [4]

The 2022–23 Drake Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Drake University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by fifth-year head coach Darian DeVries, played their home games at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa as members of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). They finished the regular season 27–7, 15–5 in MVC play to finish in second place. In the MVC tournament, they defeated Murray State, Southern Illinois, and Bradley to win the tournament championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, where they were defeated by Miami (FL) in the first round.

The defending champions were the Missouri State Bears, who successfully defended their title by defeating Evansville 1–0 in the final. This was the secondd straight year that Missouri State and Evansville played in the title game. The conference tournament title was the fourth, and third in a row for the Missouri State men's soccer program, and third for head coach Michael Seabolt. As tournament champions, Missouri State earned the Missouri Valley's automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
