The 2022 Narayanganj City Corporation election was an election in Narayanganj,Bangladesh.The election was held on 22 December 2016.In the election, Awami League's Selina Hayat Ivy contest the election in her party banner for first time since the establishment of the City Corporation in 2011 and led her party to victory.She secured her second consecutive term by defeating her closest rival BNP's Sakhawat Hossain Khan (A new comer in politics). Narayanganj District is a district in central Bangladesh which is a part of the Dhaka Division. It is the smallest district in Bangladesh. It is home to the ancient city of one of the oldest industrial districts in the country. The district lies on the banks of the Shitalakshya River and the Meghna River. It is an industrial hub and plays an important part in the country's jute trade, plant processing and sector. It is nicknamed the "Dundee of Bangladesh" due to the presence of many jute mills.
