The 2016 Tour of Croatia was the 2nd edition of the Tour of Croatia cycling stage race. The race started on 19 April in Osijek and ended on 24 April in Zagreb and consisted of six stages. The race is part of the 2016 UCI Europe Tour, and is rated as a 2.1 event.
The race has been won by Synergy Baku Cycling Project's Croatian rider Matija Kvasina, [1] who took the leader's jersey after winning the fourth stage. [2] Giacomo Nizzolo claimed the Points classification, Riccardo Zoidl won the Mountains classification, and Domen Novak finished first in the Young Rider classification [3] Synergy Baku Cycling Project won the Teams classification.

Matthew Martin Brammeier is a former professional cyclist, who competed professionally between 2006 and 2018 for nine different professional teams. Upon retiring, Brammeier became a coach for British Cycling. He won five titles at the Irish National Cycling Championships, winning the road race four times and the time trial once.
Perutnina Ptuj is a Continental cycling team. It was founded in 1985, as Kolesarski klub Ptuj and started as a recreative club. In 1992 Kolesarski klub Ptuj signed a list about permanent collaboration with Perutnina Ptuj and was renamed in Kolesarski klub Perutnina Ptuj. It is based in Slovenia and it participates in UCI Continental Circuits races.
Team Felt–Felbermayr is a UCI Continental team founded in 2004. The team is based in Austria and participates in UCI Continental Circuits races.
Matija Kvasina is a Croatian racing cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI Continental team Team Felbermayr–Simplon Wels. He finished 56th in the road race and 38th in the road time trial at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. In 2017, Kvasina was given a four-year doping suspension after a positive drugs test at that year's Flèche du Sud.
Team Ljubljana Gusto Santic is a Slovenian cycling team founded in 1949, which has competed as a UCI Continental team since 2005. It participates in UCI Continental Circuits races.

The Sibiu Cycling Tour is a 2.1 category professional bicycle road race held in Sibiu, Romania. Its first edition took place in July 2011, as part of the UCI Europe Tour. The race is organised with the support of the local council as well as the regional council of Sibiu. Held entirely around the city, the race normally runs over four days including a prologue on the cobbled streets of the city, and two climbing stages, one on the Transfăgărășan road to Bâlea Lake and a second to the mountain resort of Păltiniș.

The 2015 Tour de Langkawi was the 20th edition of the Tour de Langkawi road cycling stage race. It took place in Malaysia between 8 and 15 March 2015, consisting of eight road stages. The race was rated by the UCI as a 2.HC race as part of the 2015 UCI Asia Tour.
The 2015 Tour de Taiwan was the thirteenth edition of the Tour de Taiwan cycling stage race. It started on 22 March and ended on 26 March, consisting of five stages and was rated as a 2.1 event on the 2015 UCI Asia Tour. The 2014 champion was Rémy Di Gregorio, but his team was not selected to take part in the 2015 edition.
The 2015 Settimana Internazionale di Coppi e Bartali was the 30th edition of the Settimana Internazionale di Coppi e Bartali cycling stage race. It started on 26 March in Gatteo and ended on 29 March in Roccapelago. The race consisted of four stages. As in the 2014 edition, the first stage was divided into two half-stages, with the second half of the first stage being a team time trial.

It was rated as a 2.1 event as part of the 2016 UCI Europe Tour. The race included five stages, starting in Baku on 4 May and returning there for the finish on 8 May.
Amaro Manuel Raposo Antunes is a Portuguese cyclist, who last rode for UCI Continental team W52 / FC Porto. In May 2019, he was named in the startlist for the 2019 Giro d'Italia. On 2 March 2023, he was suspended for doping retrospectively from 5 December 2022 until 5 December 2026 by the UCI. Some of his results including the 2017 and 2021 Volta a Portugal overall wins were then annulled.
