The 10th Edition of Asian Kabaddi Championship was held at Gorgan, Iran from 22 November to 26 November 2017. India continued their dominance winning both men's and women's tournament. [1]
This was overall the 10th edition (10th for men's and 5th for women's). 1st ever to be held(and to be held outside India) in Iran, 20 teams (11 countries) participated at the tournament. This was regarded as the best edition of Asian Kabaddi Championship. India continued their dominance by winning both men and women competitions.
9 Countries(Afghanistan only in men's and Chinese Taipei only in women's) participated in both men's and women's team competitions. They were divided into 2 Pools of 5 teams each in both men and women competition.

the head coach of the Thailand women's kabaddi team was reportedly caught with a headscarf over his head in order to gain entry into one of the matches that the Iranian women's team was taking part in. Reports suggest that the coach entered the premises of the match and wore two different colours of headscarves in order to blend in with the other women around. The act has been strongly condemned by the local sports authority and the Iranian Federation, who considered it a gross violation of the rules of the host country. Laws in Iran are still very strong when it comes to men and women's sports competitions and no man is allowed entry into one of the matches that the women are a part of. [2]
Many Indian stars after winning the tournament slammed the organizers for not broadcasting the tournament. "It is a sad thing that there was not telecast at all on TV," said Puneri Paltan star Deepak Niwas Hooda, "Such events should certainly be broadcasted. We really liked it when everyone across India watched us play in the Pro Kabaddi League and even we could also see ourselves on TV, The organizers authorities should have certainly made an arrangement to telecast the matches in India. It means a lot to us if we know people back home are seeing us play and it gives us an extra boost." he added. [3] Indian Captain Ajay Thakur said "We got to know that there is no telecast of the tournament in India and that you (fans) are unable to watch the matches. It as a very sad thing that there is no coverage of the Championships and we were very disappointed when we got to know this fact. However, we are trying to make as many videos as possible and take pictures so that we can share them with you," [4]
Kabaddi is a contact team sport. Played between two teams of seven players. The objective of the game is for a single player on offense, referred to as a "raider", to run into the opposing team's half of the court, touch out as many of their players and return to their own half of the court, all without being tackled by the defenders in 30 seconds. Points are scored for each player tagged by the raider, while the opposing team earns a point for stopping the raider. Players are taken out of the game if they are touched or tackled, but are brought back in for each point scored by their team from a tag or a tackle.

Pardeep Narwal the current captain of the team after Deepak Niwas Hooda was suffering from bad form in PKL 9.
Kabaddi, is a contact sport, native to the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the most popular sports in India, played mainly among people in villages. India has taken part in four Asian Games in kabaddi, and won gold in all of them. Four forms of kabaddi played in India are Amar, Suranjeevi, huttuttoo, and Gaminee. Amar is generally played in Punjab, Haryana, the United States, Canada, and other parts of the world, mostly by Punjabi sportsmen. Suranjeevi is the most played form of kabaddi in India and the world. This is the form used in international matches generally and played in Asian Games. Huttuttoo was played by men in Maharashtra. In Gaminee style, seven players play on each side and a player put out has to remain out until all his team members are out. The team that is successful in outing all the players of the opponent's side secures a point. The game continues until five or seven such points are secured and has no fixed time duration.
India women's national kabaddi team represents India in international women's Kabaddi events.

Pro Kabaddi League or abbreviated to PKL is an Indian men's professional Kabaddi league. It was launched in 2014 and is broadcast on Star Sports. However, Season 8 was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the season commenced on 22 December 2021.
Ajay Thakur is an Indian professional Kabaddi player and the former captain of the Indian National Kabaddi Team. He was part of the national teams which won 2016 Kabaddi World Cup and gold medal at 2014 Asian Games. He was awarded the Padma Shri and Arjuna Award in 2019.
Deepak Jagbir Hooda is an Indian International cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team. He also plays in the Indian Premier League for Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan in the domestic cricket. He is an all-rounder who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off break. He made his international debut for India in February 2022.
Punjabi kabaddi, also called circle style kabaddi, is a contact sport that originated in the Punjab region, in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent. There are a number of traditional Punjabi kabaddi styles traditionally played in the Punjab region. As standard kabaddi, circle style kabaddi is also played at state and international levels, through various governing bodies such as Kabaddi World Cup.
Deepak Ram Niwas Hooda is an Indian professional Kabaddi player and the captain of India national kabaddi team. He was part of the Indian team which won gold medal at the 2016 South Asian Games. He has also featured in all the seasons of the Pro Kabaddi League. Deepak is regarded as one of the best all rounder in the Pro Kabaddi League history.
Tamil Thalaivas is a professional kabaddi team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, that plays in the Pro Kabaddi League. The team is owned by the consortium called Magnum Sports Private Limited, the parent company of Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters FC. Actor Vijay Sethupathi is the brand ambassador of the team. Tamil Thalaivas play their home matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Chennai), Tamil Nadu.

The 2018 Dubai Kabaddi Masters was a 6 nation Kabaddi Masters series which was held in the United Arab Emirates for 9 days from 22 June 2018 – 30 June 2018. This was also the inaugural edition of the tournament. This was the first international kabaddi sport event to be witnessed in the UAE. The tournament featured defending world champions India, Pakistan, Iran, Republic of Korea, Argentina and Kenya. India was regarded as the firm favourites to lift the inaugural Dubai Kabaddi Masters title. The tournament was hosted at the Al Wasl Sports Club in Dubai.
