The Hofstra Pride are composed of 17 teams representing Hofstra University in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women’s basketball, cross-country running, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis and track and field. Men’s sports include baseball and wrestling. Women’s sports include volleyball, field hockey, and softball. The Pride compete in the NCAA Division I and have been members of the Colonial Athletic Association in most sports since 2001. They were previously members of the America East Conference.

The defending champions were the James Madison Dukes. They were unable to defend their crown as they were under a post season ban from the CAA. The Hofstra Pride won the tournament by defeating Elon 3–2 in the final. The conference tournament title was the fifth overall for the Hofstra men's soccer program all of which have come under head coach Richard Nuttall. As tournament champions, Hofstra earned the CAA's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.

The Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the tournament were hosted by the first and second seed and the final was hosted by the highest remaining seed. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Hofstra Pride, who successfully defendeded their title, despite being the eighth and final team to qualify for the tournament. Hofstra won the tournament by defeating Northeastern 2–1 in overtime the final. The conference tournament title was the eighth overall for the Hofstra women's soccer program and the seventh overall for head coach Simon Riddiough. Both Hofstra and Riddiough have won five of the last six CAA Tournaments. As tournament champions, Hofstra earned the CAA's automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament.

The First Round and Semifinals of the tournament were hosted by the first and second seed and the final was hosted by the highest remaining seed. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Hofstra Pride, who were unable to defend their title, falling to Monmouth in the Semifinals. Towson won the tournament by defeating Monmouth in the Final, 2–1. The conference tournament title was the first overall for the Towson women's soccer program and the first for head coach Katherine Vettori. As tournament champions, Towson earned the CAA's automatic berth into the 2023 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament.
