The 2017 Liga 3 North Sulawesi season is the third edition of Liga Nusantara North Sulawesi is a qualifying round of the 2017 Liga 3. Persma 1960 Manado were the defending champions, but lost.

North Sulawesi is a province of Indonesia. It is mainly located on the Minahasa Peninsula of the island of Sulawesi, south of the Philippines and southeast of Sabah, Malaysia, but also includes various small archipelagoes situated between the Minahasa Peninsula and southern Philippines. It borders the Philippine province of Davao Occidental and Soccsksargen regions to the north, the Maluku Sea to the east, Gorontalo and the Celebes Sea to the west and the Gulf of Tomini to the southwest. The Minahasans or Minahassa are an indigenous ethnic group from the North Sulawesi province of Indonesia, formerly known as North Celebes. The Minahasa people sometimes refer to themselves as Manado people. Although the Minahasan pre-Christian creation myth entails some form of ethnic unification, before the nineteenth century the Minahasa region was in no way unified. Instead, a number of politically independent groups (walak) existed together, often in a permanent state of conflict.

South Bolaang Mongondow Regency is a regency of North Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. The Regency stretches along the south coast of the province as part of the Minahasa Peninsula, facing the Gulf of Tomini. It was created on 24 June 2008 by splitting off districts which were previously the southern part of Bolaang Mongondow Regency. It covers a land area of 1,932.30 km2, and had a population of 57,001 at the 2010 Census, which rose to 69,791 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 73,046. The administrative centre lies at the town of Molibagu.
Bolaang Mongondow Airport, is located in Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The airport is named after the former king of the Kingdom of Bolaang Mongondow, Loloda Mokoagow. The first plane landed at the airport on 18 February 2024.
Trans-Sulawesi Highway is an under construction highway which connects Manado with Makassar, Sulawesi Island, to be upgraded and repaired. Portions under construction include South Minahasa, Bolaang North, Mongondow, and North Gorontalo as of 2012.
The Mongondow or Bolaang Mongondow people are an ethnic group native to the north-eastern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The Mongondows are predominantly Muslim. They have traditionally been concentrated in the provinces of North Sulawesi and Gorontalo. This ethnic group used to be united by a single entity, the Kingdom of Bolaang Mongondow, which became the western regencies of North Sulawesi after the Indonesian independence.

The 2016 ISC Liga Nusantara or 2016 Indonesia Soccer Championship C season is the second edition of Liga Nusantara after the Second Division and Third Division merged on 2014 season. This season is managed by competition committee of Province Association for qualification round and managed by PT. GTS in national round. The competition started in May 2016.
Bernard Wilhelm "B. W." Lapian was a nationalist involved in the struggle for Indonesian independence. He published several newspapers that gave voice to the welfare of the Indonesian people and promoted Indonesian nationalism. He was also part a group who established a separate Christian denomination from the official Dutch East-Indies church institution. After Indonesia gained its independence, Lapian served as head of the district of Manado and acting governor of Sulawesi. In 2015, he was given the title of National Hero of Indonesia by President Joko Widodo.

2023–24 Liga 3 North Sulawesi is the sixth edition of Liga 3 North Sulawesi organized by Asprov PSSI North Sulawesi.
