Persatuan Sepak Bola Minahasa commonly referred to as simply Persmin or Persmin Minahasa is an Indonesian football club based in Tondano, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. The club was established in 1963 and plays its home matches at Maesa Stadium.
Persmin was founded in 1963 in Tondano, Minahasa. Over the decades, the club has competed in various tiers of Indonesian football, striving to make its mark on the national stage.
During this period, Divisi Satu functioned as the second tier in the Indonesian football league system, equivalent to the current Liga 2. Persmin's early participation in national football began in the 1998–1999 season in Divisi Satu. They reached the Top 8 after winning Group IV in the initial phase but secured only the fourth position in Group A of the Top 8. In the 1999–2000 season, Persmin again failed to secure promotion to Divisi Utama after finishing third in the Eastern Group of Divisi Satu. The struggle continued in subsequent seasons with varying results until finally, in the 2004 season, Persmin earned promotion to Divisi Utama.
At that time, Divisi Utama was the top tier in Indonesian football, equivalent to the current Liga 1. After their promotion in 2004, Persmin competed in Divisi Utama and displayed competitive performances. Their peak achievement occurred in the 2006 season when they reached the semifinals and secured third place. This accomplishment established Persmin as one of the dark horse teams in national football during that period. [2]
Following several seasons in Divisi Utama, Persmin experienced a decline in performance, leading to relegation to lower leagues. They then competed in Liga 3, which is the third tier in the current league system. In 2024, Persmin clinched the Liga 3 North Sulawesi title by defeating Persminsel with a score of 3-1 in the final held at Klabat Stadium, Manado. [3]
Persmin hosts its home matches at Maesa Stadium, located in Tondano. The stadium has a seating capacity of 15,000 and serves as a central hub for football activities in Minahasa.
