The 2006 Liga Indonesia Premier Division (also known as the Liga Djarum Indonesia for sponsorship reasons) was the 12th season of the Liga Indonesia Premier Division, the top Indonesian professional league for association football clubs.
Due to the effects of the 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake, PSSI and league organizers announced, in a controversial decision, that no teams would be relegated during the season. [1] This was meant to protect PSIM Yogyakarta and PSS Sleman, who withdrew from competition and thus forfeited their remaining matches due to the earthquake.

Persatuan Sepak Bola Indonesia Kota Tangerang, or Persikota Tangerang, is an Indonesian professional football club based in Tangerang, founded in 1994. The team currently plays in the second division of Indonesian football, Liga 2. Their home ground is Benteng Stadium.
The 2008–09 Indonesia Super League was the first edition of the Indonesia Super League, which replaced the Premier Division as the top-tier football competition in the country. The league was sponsored by Djarum and was officially called Djarum Super Liga Indonesia (SLI) or Djarum Indonesia Super League (ISL).

The worsening macro economics situation prior to the Asian Financial Crisis forced the PSSI to further divide the league into 3 Regions, up from the previous season 2, to reduce cost related to logistical problems owing to the vastness of Indonesian geography. The season began on 17 November 1996 and ended on 28 July 1997. Persebaya won the title after beating the defending champions, Bandung Raya 3–1 in the final.

He was top scorer in Liga Indonesia four times, scoring a total of 249 goals in the league. Born in Uruguay and a former Uruguay youth international, he is the first naturalized player to be called up to the Indonesian national team.
The 2010 Piala Indonesia was the fifth edition of Piala Indonesia, the nationwide football cup tournament in Indonesia, involving professional clubs from Indonesia Super League, Premier Division and First Division. Sriwijaya FC was the tournament's defending champions. The winner of the tournament qualified to play for 2011 AFC Champions League qualification. RCTI was appointed as the official TV broadcaster for this tournament.
