The 2017 IHF Men's Junior World Championship was the 21st edition of the tournament, held in Algiers, Algeria from 18 to 30 July 2017. [1] It was the first time that Algeria staged the competition, and the third time that it was held in Africa.
Spain won their first title by defeating Denmark 39–38 in the final. [2] France captured the bronze medal after they beat Germany 23–22. [3]
The games of the tournament were played in Algiers.

The 2007 World Women's Handball Championship was the 18th edition of the international championship tournament in women's team sport handball that is governed by the International Handball Federation (IHF). France hosted the event from 2–16 December 2007. A total of 24 teams participated in the tournament. Russia successfully contested Norway in the final, regaining the title after having lost it at the 2005 final.
The 2017 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. The event was held in France from 11 to 29 January 2017.
The 2017 IHF World Women's Handball Championship, the 23rd event hosted by the International Handball Federation, was held in Germany from 1 to 17 December 2017. Germany was the only applicant for this championship. Germany was host of the World Championships in 1965 and 1997.
The 2015 IHF Men's Junior World Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament and held at Brazil from 19 July to 1 August 2015. The decision to select Brazil as the host was announced 1 August 2014. France won their first title by defeating Denmark 26–24 in the final.
The 2015 Men's Youth World Handball Championship was the sixth edition of the IHF Men's Youth World Championship, held in Yekaterinburg, Russia from 7 to 20 August 2015. France won their first title by defeating Slovenia 33–26 in the final.
The 2016 Women's Junior World Handball Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament and took place in Moscow, Russia from 2 to 15 July 2016. Denmark won their second title after defeating Russia 32–28 in the final.
The 2021 IHF World Women's Handball Championship, the 25th event by the International Handball Federation, was held in Spain from 1 to 19 December 2021. On 18 October 2018, at a congress in Doha, Qatar, the IHF announced that the World Championship would be expanded from 24 teams to 32 teams from 2021 onwards.
The 2017 IHF Men's Youth World Championship was the seventh edition of the U-19 tournament and held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 8 to 20 August 2017. All matches were played in two halls at the Olympic Palace.
The 2018 African Men's Handball Championship was the 23rd edition of the African Men's Handball Championship and held from 17 to 27 January 2018 in Gabon. It acted as the African qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship.

The 2019 IHF Men's Junior World Championship (under-21) was the 22nd edition of the tournament, held from 16 to 28 July 2019 in Vigo and Pontevedra, Spain. It was the second time that Spain stage the competition, and the fifteenth time that it was held in Europe.
The 2021 African Women's Handball Championship was the 24th edition of the African Women's Handball Championship, which was originally scheduled to take place from 2 to 12 December 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was rescheduled to 8 to 18 June 2021 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The tournament was held under the aegis of African Handball Confederation and acted as the African qualifying tournament for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship.
The 2019 IHF Men's Youth World Championship (under-19) was the eighth edition of the tournament, held from 6 to 18 August 2019 in Skopje, North Macedonia.
The 2023 IHF Men's U19 Handball World Championship was the 10th edition of the IHF Men's U19 Handball World Championship, held from 2 to 13 August 2023 in Croatia under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF). It was the first time in history that the championship is organised by the Croatian Handball Federation.
The 2022 IHF Women's U20 Handball World Championship was the 23rd edition of the IHF Women's U20 Handball World Championship, held in Slovenia from 22 June to 3 July 2022 under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF). For the first time, the championship was organised by the Handball Federation of Slovenia. The number of teams increased from 24 to 32.
The 2024 IHF Women's U20 Handball World Championship was 24th edition of the IHF Women's U20 Handball World Championship, held in North Macedonia from 19 to 30 June 2024 under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF).
The 2023 IHF Men's U21 Handball World Championship was the 24th edition of the IHF Men's U21 Handball World Championship, held in Germany and Greece under the aegis of the International Handball Federation (IHF) from 20 June to 2 July 2023. It was the second time in history that the championship will be jointly organised by two countries, the first being in 1979.
The 2023 IHF World Women's Handball Championship was the 26th edition of the championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF) from 29 November to 17 December 2023 and jointly hosted by Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. It was the third time in handball history that the championship is jointly hosted, the first in Sweden, and also the first to be played in three countries.
The 2022 African Men's Handball Championship was the 25th edition of the African Men's Handball Championship, held from 11 to 18 July 2022 in Egypt. It acted as the African qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship in Poland and Sweden. Originally it was scheduled to be held in Morocco from 13 to 23 January 2022.
The 2023 IHF Emerging Nations Handball Championship was the fourth edition of the IHF Emerging Nations Championship held in Bulgaria under the aegis of International Handball Federation from 25 to 30 April 2023.
