The 5th Annual MTV MIAW Awards were held on June 2, 2018 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, and was broadcast on June 3, 2018 through MTV Latin America. The awards celebrate the best of Latin music and the digital world of the millennial generation. The ceremony was hosted by Mon Laferte and La Divaza. [1]

Written by the two singers, Jhay Cortez, Rafael Pina, Vicente Saavedra and its producer Haze, it is a reggaeton song with drum programming and forceful bass patterns indebted to the dancehall genre. The accompanying music video was directed by Nuno Gómes at an abandoned women's prison in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, and portrays Ozuna as a prison director falling in love with a prisoner played by Natasha. It was written by the two singers, Nate Campany, Kyle Sherear, Rafael Pina, Mau y Ricky, Jon Leone, Camilo Echeverry and its producers Daddy Yankee and Gaby Music. The song and its music video were released by on April 20, 2018. It became both Gomez and Natasha's third top 10 hit on US Hot Latin Songs and has reached number one in Bolivia, Chile, El Salvador and Spain as well as the top 10 in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru and Uruguay. "Sin Pijama" received a Latin platinum certification in the US and surpassed 100 million views on YouTube/Vevo within 3 weeks of its release. The 31st Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony was held on February 21, 2019. Univision broadcast the show live from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Mexican-American TV presenter, Alejandra Espinoza, Mexican singer and actress Maite Perroni, and American singer Victor Manuelle hosted the ceremony.

"Banana" is a song by Brazilian singer Anitta featuring American singer Becky G. It was released through Warner Music Brasil on April 5, 2019, as the third single from Anitta's album Kisses (2019). It is Anitta and Gomez's second collaboration, following their feats on the remix of "Mala Mía" with Maluma released in 2018.

The 7th Annual MTV MIAW Awards took place on June 23, 2019 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. It was broadcast live by MTV Latin America. The awards celebrated the best of Latin music and the digital world of the millennial generation. The list of nominees were revealed on May 6, 2019. Leading the list of nominees were J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Paulo Londra with five nominations each and Anitta with three nominations under her belt.

Premios Juventud aims to inspire, motivate and empower Latino youth to become leaders for change. The awards celebrate the current trends in pop culture, music, digital, fashion, television and social media. Daddy Yankee was honored with the "Agent Of Change" award.
