The 2018 Samoa National League is the 28th edition of the Samoa National League, the top association football league of Samoa organised by the Football Federation Samoa. This season kicked off on 4 August 2018, [1] and will be competed by 12 teams from the island of Upolu. [2] The winner will qualify for the 2019 OFC Champions League.

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is one of the six continental confederations of international association football. The OFC has 13 members, 11 of which are full members and two which are associate members not affiliated with FIFA. It promotes the game in Oceania and allows the member nations to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.
The American Samoa national football team represents American Samoa in men's international association football and is controlled by the Football Federation American Samoa, the governing body of the sport in the territory. Timothy Filiga Cahill is an Australian former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder but also played as a striker on many occasions. Football Federation Samoa is a member of the Oceania Football Confederation and is the national governing body for association football in Samoa. It was founded in 1968 and became a FIFA member in 1986. The Samoa national football team is a regular entrant into OFC competitions, including FIFA World Cup qualifying.

Shalom Luani is an American football safety for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He is better known worldwide for his soccer career, having scored against Tonga in American Samoa's first-ever win in FIFA-sanctioned play. Luani, who now plays as a forward, scored twice for American Samoa in November 2011, making him the country's joint–top goalscorer of all time with fellow forward Ramin Ott.

Samuelu Malo is a Samoan footballer who plays as a midfielder for Vailima Kiwi FC and the Samoa national football team. He made his debut for the national team at the 2016 OFC Nations Cup on May 29, 2016 in their 4–0 loss against Tahiti.
