The 2018 South Sudan National Cup is the 6th edition of the South Sudan National Cup, the knockout football competition of South Sudan.
There were two groups, with Group A played in Juba and Group B played in Aweil. [1]
Al-Merreikh won Group A and Al-Ghazala won Group B.
The final was played on 14 August 2018 at the Juba Stadium in Juba.
Al-Merrikh Sporting Club is a Sudanese football club based in Omdurman. Their home stadium is Al-Merrikh Stadium, which is locally known as The Red Castle. Founded in 1908, Al-Merrikh is one of the oldest football clubs in Africa, and have won the Sudan Premier League 16 times and Sudan Cup 14 times. The club share a fierce rivalry with Al-Hilal, the games between them regularly selling out, as well as being the only other realistic challenger to the league crown. They won the Om-al-Dahab championship in 1965 and have been the only team to have ever won this one time event. Al-Hilal are also based in Omdurman with only Al-Ardha street separating the teams and between them they are Sudan's most powerful and successful football clubs.
Faisal Agab Sido is a Sudanese football player who plays as an attacking midfielder and striker for Sudan national team and the Sudanese club Al-Merreikh. He is also the captain of Al-Merreikh club.

The 2009 CECAFA U-17 Championship was the 2nd edition of the CECAFA U-17 Championship organized bt CECAFA (Council of East and Central Africa Football Association. The second edition of the CEFAFA U-17 Championship, all games were originally to be played in Nairobi, Kenya but have since been moved to Sudan. due to financial reasons, the Sudanese FA and El Merreikh Investment Group have agreed to sponsor the tournament.

Each participating nation was represented mostly by players who play in their respective local divisions. The competition was hosted in Sudan from February 4 to 25, 2011. Tunisia won their first title by defeating Angola in the final 3–0.

Aluck Akech Mabior, known as Aluck Akech, also spelled as Aluk Akec in Dinka language, is a South Sudanese professional footballer who plays for Sudanese club Al-Merreikh SC. Aluck started his football career as street football in the Sudan before South Sudan gained its independence. In 2009 Aluck returned to the south, and Aweil Stars administrators realised that Aluck was footballer and that great realisation brought them to registration of Aluck. And in the year 2012 Aluck joined Salaam Aweil from Aweil Stars. And he spent two years with Salaam Aweil than Salaam Aweil sold him to Malakia in 2014. When Aluck was playing in Juba for Malakia; South Sudan national football team administrators realized that he was capable for South Sudan national football team. And Malakia sold him to Sudanese club Al-Merreikh Costi in 2014. And Merreikh Kosti sold him to Al-Merreikh SC.
