The 2018 Southern Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southern Conference held from October 24 through November 4, 2018. The first round and quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at Betts Stadium in Macon, Georgia. The ten-team single-elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The UNC Greensboro Spartans were the defending champions and successfully defended their crown with a 2–1 win over the Furman Paladins in the final. The Wofford Terriers are the athletic teams that represent the Wofford College, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in intercollegiate sports at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), primarily competing in the Southern Conference since the 1997–98 academic year. Wofford and the other SoCon members play football in the Football Championship Subdivision. Prior to the 1995–96 year, the Terriers played in Division II in all sports, and until the 1988–89 period, Wofford's athletic teams were members of the NAIA. The football team plays in Gibbs Stadium. The basketball teams moved to the new Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium for the 2017–18 season.
The 2011–12 The Citadel Bulldogs basketball team represented The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in the 2011-12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs were led by second year head coach Chuck Driesell and played their home games at McAlister Field House. They are a member of the South Division of the Southern Conference. They finished the season 6–24, 3–15 in SoCon play to finish in last place in the South Division. They lost in the first round of the SoCon Basketball tournament to Western Carolina.
The 2013–14 The Citadel Bulldogs basketball team represented The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs were led by fourth year head coach Chuck Driesell and played their home games at McAlister Field House. They played a member of the Southern Conference. They finished the season 7–26, 2–14 in SoCon play to finish in last place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the SoCon tournament where they lost to Wofford.

The Samford Bulldogs were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 2–1 semifinal loss in double overtime to the UNC Greensboro Spartans. UNC Greensboro won the tournament with a 1–0 win over the Western Carolina Catamounts in the final. This was the seventh Southern Conference tournament title for the UNC Greensboro women's soccer program and the first for head coach Michael Coll.

The 2018–19 UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Greensboro during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Spartans finished the season 29–7, 15–3 in SoCon play, and were the SoCon regular season runners-up. They defeated Samford and Furman before falling to regular season champion Wofford in the title game of the SoCon Tournament. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they beat Campbell in the first round before losing to eventual tournament runners-up Lipscomb.

The 2021–22 Mercer Bears men's basketball team represented Mercer University in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bears, led by third-year head coach Greg Gary, played their home games at Hawkins Arena in Macon, Georgia as a member of the Southern Conference. They finished the season 16–17, 8–10 in SoCon play to finish in seventh place. They defeated Western Carolina in the first round of the SoCon tournament before losing to Furman in the quarterfinals.

As tournament champions, Mercer earned the Southern Conference's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
The 2023 Southern Conference baseball season was the baseball season for the Southern Conference as part of the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. Wofford was predicted to win the conference in the preseason poll. The conference tournament is scheduled for May 24–28 at Fluor Field at the West End in Greenville, South Carolina.

This was the fourth Southern Conference tournament title for the UNC Greensboro men's soccer program, and second under coach Chris Rich. UNC Greensboro also has two tournament titles that were later vacated. As tournament champions, UNC Greensboro earned the Southern Conference's automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
