The league was formed by four relegated teams from Liga 3, four promoted teams from Regionuli Liga and two winners of play-off ties [1] between these two division members. They took part in a single three-round competition. [2]

The 2020 Erovnuli Liga or Crystalbet Erovnuli Liga 2020 was the 32nd season of top-tier football in Georgia. Dinamo Tbilisi were the defending champions. The season began on 29 February 2020 and ended on 10 December 2020. The league winner, Dinamo Tbilisi, earned a place in the UEFA Champions League and the second and third-placed clubs, Dinamo Batumi and Dila Gori respectively, earned a place in the new UEFA Europa Conference League.

Liga 4, organized by Georgian Football Federation, is the fourth tier of Georgian football league. It was founded in 2019 as a part of comprehensive reorganization of the league system.

Regionuli Liga, run by Georgian Football Federation since 1990, is the fifth and lowest division of Georgian league system after Erovnuli Liga, Erovnuli Liga 2, Liga 3 and Liga 4. Their participants are both professional clubs and reserve teams of higher league members.

FC Gareji Sagarejo Football club

FC Gareji is a Georgian Association football club from Sagarejo, which currently takes part in Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian football league.

The 2021 Erovnuli Liga 2 was the 5th season under its current title and the 33rd season of second tier football in Georgia. The season began on 1 March and ended on 3 December.

The 2021 Liga 3 was the 5th season under its current title and the 33rd season of third tier football in Georgia. The season began on 2 April and ended on 2 December.

The 2021 Liga 4 was the third season of fourth-tier football in Georgia under its current title. The season began on 30 March and ended on 22 November.

The 2022 Erovnuli Liga 2 is the sixth season under its current title and the 34th season of second-tier football in Georgia. The four-round competition began on 1 March and will end on 2 December.

The 2016 Pirveli Liga was the 28th and last season under this name before the division was reorganized into Erovnuli Liga 2. It began on 19 August and ended with relegation play-off finals on 10 December.
