Hsieh Su-wei was the defending champion, but she lost in the quarterfinals to Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Karolína Plíšková defeated Mattek-Sands in the final, 1–6, 7–5, 6–3, to claim her first WTA singles title.
Ashleigh Barty and Sally Peers were the defending champions, having won the event in 2012, but Barty decided not to participate this year. Peers partnered up with Stephanie Bengson, but lost in the first round.
This is the doubles draw for the second Bendigo Women's International of 2013.
Kanae Hisami and Mari Tanaka were the defending champions, having won the event in 2013, however both players chose to participate with different partners. Hisami partnered with Sachie Ishizu, but the team withdrew before their first round was played, whilst Tanaka partnered Makoto Ninomiya, but lost in the first round.
Julie Coin and Stéphanie Foretz Gacon were the defending champions, but Coin chose not to participate. Foretz Gacon partnered with Amandine Hesse, but they lost in the semifinals.

Natela Dzalamidze and Veronika Kudermetova were the defending champions, but Dzalamidze chose not to participate. Kudermetova successfully defended her title, this time alongside Aryna Sabalenka, defeating Monique Adamczak and Naomi Broady 2–6, 7–6(7–5), [10–6] in the final.
Darija Jurak and Anastasia Rodionova were the defending champions, but Rodionova chose not to participate this year. Jurak played alongside Pauline Parmentier, but lost in the first round to Monica Puig and Sloane Stephens.
Monique Adamczak and Storm Sanders were the defending champions, but Sanders chose not to participate. Adamczak partnered Laura Robson but lost in the semifinals to Jessica Moore and Ellen Perez.

This was the first edition of the tournament. Anastasia Potapova and Vera Zvonareva won the title, defeating Alexandra Panova and Galina Voskoboeva in the final, 6–0, 6–3.

Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic defeated Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová in the final, 6–2, 6–1 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2020 Australian Open. It was their second Australian Open title together. Despite the loss, Hsieh regained the WTA no. 1 doubles ranking for the first time since 2014, replacing her partner Strýcová. Mladenovic, Aryna Sabalenka and Xu Yifan were also in contention for the top ranking.
Defending champion Barbora Krejčíková and her partner Nikola Mektić defeated Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Jamie Murray in the final, 5–7, 6–4, [10–1] to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2020 Australian Open.

Asia Muhammad and Maria Sanchez were the defending champions, but Muhammad chose to compete in the Indian Wells 125K event instead. Sanchez played alongside Monique Adamczak, but lost in the first round to Marie Bouzková and Renata Voráčová.
Samantha Stosur and Zhang Shuai defeated Coco Gauff and Caty McNally in the final, 6–3, 3–6, 6–3 to win the women's doubles title at the 2021 US Open. It was Stosur's fourth major title in women's doubles and eighth major overall, as well as Zhang's second major title; this was the team's second major title, following the 2019 Australian Open. This was the first major final for Gauff and for McNally.
