The 2020 season for the Cofidis road cycling team began in January at the Tour Down Under. Cofidis stepped up to the UCI WorldTeam status this season after spending the last 10 years as a UCI Professional Continental team. [1]

Cofidis is a French professional road bicycle racing team sponsored by a money-lending company, Cofidis. It was started in 1996 by Cyrille Guimard, the former manager of Bernard Hinault, Greg LeMond and Laurent Fignon of the Renault–Elf–Gitane team of the 1980s. The team's sponsor has supported the team despite repeated problems such as doping scandals. After it was part of the UCI ProTour for the ProTour's first five seasons, from 2010 the team competed as a UCI Professional Continental team. The team joined the UCI World Tour for the 2020 season.
Team TotalEnergies is a professional road bicycle racing team that competes as a UCI ProTeam in UCI Continental Circuits races, and UCI World Tour races when invited as a wild card entry. In previous years, the team was known as Brioches La Boulangère, Bonjour, Bouygues Télécom, and Bbox Bouygues Telecom and Europcar. The 2015 season was the last under the sponsorship of Europcar. The team has been sponsored by Direct Énergie since 2016.
Fabio Sabatini is an Italian former professional road bicycle racer, who last rode for UCI WorldTeam Cofidis. He was a lead-out man for Elia Viviani and followed him from Deceuninck–Quick-Step to Cofidis. Sabatini retired from competition at the end of the 2021 season.
Arkéa–B&B Hotels is a UCI WorldTeam cycling team based in Rennes, France. After the team won enough points during the 2020–2022 seasons, the team was promoted from its prior status as a UCI ProTeam and now has automatic entry into all UCI World Tour races. Prior to 2023, the team participated in UCI Continental Circuits races and UCI World Tour races when receiving a wild card.
Julien Vermote is a Belgian professional cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam Visma–Lease a Bike.
Elia Viviani is an Italian professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers. On 10 May 2015, Viviani won his first Grand Tour stage victory at the Giro d'Italia, winning stage 2 in a bunch sprint before Moreno Hofland and André Greipel.
Geoffrey Soupe is a French professional road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI ProTeam Team TotalEnergies. Primarily a lead out man and baroudeur, Soupe has taken four victories during his professional career, including a stage win at the 2023 Vuelta a España with his remaining wins coming at La Tropicale Amissa Bongo – stage victories in 2011 and 2023, along with the general classification in 2023.

Niccolò Bonifazio is an Italian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Team Solution Tech–Vini Fantini.
Anthony Turgis is a French professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Team TotalEnergies. Professional since 2015, he won the ninth stage of the 2024 Tour de France from a small bunch sprint. Other professional wins of his include the 2019 Grand Prix La Marseillaise, the 2015 Boucles de la Mayenne, the 2016 Classic Loire Atlantique and the 2019 Paris–Chauny. He also finished second in the 2019 Dwars door Vlaanderen and 2022 Milan–San Remo and has competed in eight Grand Tours.
B&B Hotels–KTM was a French UCI ProSeries road cycling team that formed for the 2018 season as Vital Concept Cycling Team. It was first presented at a press conference on 17 August 2017, with an initial budget of €6 million, by its manager Jérôme Pineau. At this press conference fifteen riders were presented, with Bryan Coquard as leader, with another five riders were announced at a later date. The team sponsors the Vélo Club Pays de Loudéac and their headquarters are based in Theix. On 6 January 2018 the team missed out on a wildcard to that year's Tour de France, but were awarded a place in the Critérium du Dauphiné.
The 2019 season for Deceuninck–Quick-Step began in January at the Tour Down Under. As a UCI WorldTeam, they were automatically invited and obliged to send a squad to every event in the UCI World Tour.
Attilio Viviani is an Italian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Team Solution Tech–Vini Fantini. He is the younger brother of professional cyclist Elia Viviani, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers.
The 104th edition of the Tour of Flanders one-day cycling classic was held on 18 October 2020, as the 20th event of the 2020 UCI World Tour. The race started in Antwerp and finished in Oudenaarde, Belgium, covering a distance of 241 km. Mathieu van der Poel of the Netherlands won the race, just ahead of Belgian Wout van Aert.
