On 26 March 2020, Cricket Ireland confirmed that domestic competitions would be pushed back to 28 May 2020 at the earliest, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [8] However, on 22 July 2020, Cricket Ireland confirmed that only the 20-over and 50-over tournaments would take place in 2020 due to the pandemic. Munster Reds are the defending champions, having won the tournament for the first time in 2022.
