The 2020 South and Central American Handball Last Chance Qualification Tournament would have been contested by four teams, including nations from the 2020 South and Central American Men's Handball Championship in Florida, Uruguay. The winner would have qualified for the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship. [1]

The tournament was scheduled to take place from 15 to 21 June, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [2] It was rescheduled to 4 to 7 November 2020, but it was cancelled on 29 October 2020. [3] On 10 November 2020, the tournament was cancelled and Chile were nominated for the 2021 World Championship. [4]

2015 World Mens Handball Championship

The 2015 World Men's Handball Championship was the 24th staging of the World Men's Handball Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The final tournament was held for the first time in Qatar, from 15 January to 1 February 2015. The Qatari bid was selected over those of Norway, Poland and France after a vote by the IHF Council on 27 January 2011, in Malmö, Sweden. This was the third time that the World Championship was hosted in the Middle East And North Africa, after Egypt in 1999 and Tunisia in 2005.

2017 World Mens Handball Championship

The 2017 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. The event was held in France from 11 to 29 January 2017.

The IHF World Women's Handball Championship has been organized by the International Handball Federation since 1957. European teams have won every time except 1995 where South Korea won as the first team outside Europe and 2013 where Brazil won as the first American team. The biggest winner is Russia with four titles.

2015 Mens Junior World Handball Championship

The 2015 IHF Men's Junior World Championship was the 20th edition of the tournament and held at Brazil from 19 July to 1 August 2015. The decision to select Brazil as the host was announced 1 August 2014. France won their first title by defeating Denmark 26–24 in the final.

2021 World Mens Handball Championship 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation

The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021.

The 2023 IHF World Men's Handball Championship, will be the 28th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It will be held in Poland and Sweden from 12 to 29 January 2023. Denmark are the double defending World Champions, having won the 2019 and 2021 edition.

The 2020 IHF Women's Junior World Championship would have been the 22nd edition of the tournament in Bucharest and Brașov, Romania. Originally scheduled for 1 to 13 July 2020, the tournament was rescheduled to 2 to 13 December 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Handball competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, were held from July 24 to August 5. The venue for the competition is the Sports Centre Hall 1 located at the Videna cluster. The venue also hosted judo. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are competed.

Wheelchair handball

Wheelchair handball is handball played by people with varying physical disabilities that disqualify them from playing an able-bodied sport. These include spina bifida, birth defects, cerebral palsy, paralysis due to accident, amputations, and many other disabilities. The IHF Wheelchair Handball World Championship (IHF) is the governing body for this sport. It is recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) as the sole competent authority in wheelchair handball worldwide.

The European qualification for the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship, in Egypt, would have been contested by the teams that did not qualify for the 2020 European Men's Handball Championship and the 20 teams that played the tournament but were not pre-qualified or failed to reach a qualifying ranking place. In total, 34 teams were competing for 10 places at the final tournament.

2020 IHF Mens Olympic Qualification Tournaments

The 2020 IHF Men's Olympic Qualification Tournaments were held in Montenegro, France and Germany. The top two teams from each of the three tournaments qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics.

The 2020 Women's Youth World Handball Championship (U-18) would have been the eighth edition of the tournament and Croatia.

The 2020 IHF Women's Olympic Qualification Tournaments were held from 19 to 21 March 2021, in Spain, Hungary and Montenegro. Four teams took part in each tournament, with the two best-ranked teams qualifying for Tokyo 2020.

2020 South and Central American Mens Handball Championship

The 2020 South and Central American Men's Handball Championship was the first edition of the South and Central American Men's Handball Championship, held from 21 to 25 January 2020 in Brazil. It acted as the South and Central American qualifying tournament for the 2021 World Men's Handball Championship in Egypt.

The 2025 IHF World Men's Handball Championship, will be the 29th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It will be held in Croatia, Denmark and Norway in January 2025.

The 2027 IHF World Men's Handball Championship, will be the 30th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It will take place in Germany in January 2027.
