The 2022 FIBA U18 Women's South American Championship was the 21st edition of the South American basketball championship for women's under-17/under-18 national teams. It was played at Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 3 to 9 April 2022. [1] Brazil won the tournament for the 12th time. [2]
The tournament was postponed by one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Also, the age category was increased from U17 to U18.
In the first round, the teams were drawn into two groups. The first two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals; the third and fourth teams advanced to the 5th–8th place playoffs; the fifth-placed team in Group A finished 9th overall.

Qualified for the 2022 FIBA Under-18 Women's Americas Championship |
The FIBA Basketball World Cup is an international basketball competition between the senior men's national teams of the members of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the sport's global governing body. It takes place every four years and is considered the flagship event of FIBA.
The FIBA AmeriCup is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents.
The USA women's national under-19 basketball team is the women's basketball team, administered by USA Basketball, that represents the United States in international under-19 and under-18 women's basketball competitions, consisting mainly of the FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship for Women and FIBA Under-19 World Championship for Women. The events were originally referred to as the FIBA Americas Junior World Championship Qualifying Tournament and the FIBA Junior World Championship.
The 2016 FIBA Americas Under-18 Championship for Men was an international basketball competition that was held in Valdivia, Chile from July 19–23, 2016. It was the tenth edition of the championship, and was the FIBA Americas qualifying tournament for the 2017 FIBA Under-19 World Championship. Eight national teams from across the Americas, composed of men aged 19 and under, competed in the tournament. The United States won their fourth consecutive gold medal, and eighth overall, in this event by beating Canada in the final, 99–84.
The 2017 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup was the 13th edition of the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup, the biennial international men's youth basketball championship contested by the U19 national teams of the member associations of FIBA. It was held in Cairo, Egypt from 1 to 9 July 2017.
The 2018 FIBA Under-18 Women's Americas Championship is an international basketball competition that currently takes place from August 1–7, 2018 in Mexico City, Mexico. This is the twelfth edition of the championship, and is the FIBA Americas qualifying tournament for the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Thailand. Eight national teams from across the Americas, composed of women aged 19 and under, will compete in the tournament.

It was played from 6 to 14 August 2022 in Heraklion, Greece. Lithuania women's national under-18 basketball team won the tournament and became the European champions for the second time.
The 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship Division B was the 16th edition of the Division B of the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship, the second tier of the European women's under-18 basketball championship. It was played from 30 July to 7 August 2022 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Slovenia women's national under-18 basketball team won the tournament.
The 2022 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship Division C was the 15th edition of the Division C of the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship, the third tier of the European women's under-18 basketball championship. It was played from 26 to 31 July 2022 in Andorra la Vella, Andorra. Georgia won the tournament with Salome Svani being named the most valuable player.
The 2022 FIBA Under-18 Americas Championship was an international under-18 basketball tournament that was held from 6 to 12 June 2022 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The twelfth edition of the biennial competition, this is also the qualifying tournament for FIBA Americas in the 2023 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Hungary.

The tournament was held from 17 to 23 June 2024 in Bucaramanga, Colombia. This also served as the qualifying tournament for FIBA Americas in the 2025 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup in the Czech Republic.

The 2022 FIBA U15 South American Championship was the 29th edition of the South American basketball championship for men's under-15 national teams. The tournament was played at Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 16 to 20 November 2022.
The 2023 FIBA U17 Women's South American Championship was the 22nd edition of the South American basketball championship for women's under-17 national teams. The tournament was played in Bucaramanga, Colombia, from 26 November to 2 December 2023.

The 2022 FIBA U18 South American Championship was the 26th edition of the South American basketball championship for men's under-17/under-18 national teams. The tournament was played in Caracas, Venezuela, from 21 to 26 March 2022. Brazil won the tournament for the 10th time.
