The 2022 National League 2, also known as the 2022 MPT Myanmar National League 2, is the tenth season of the MNL-2, the second division league for association football clubs since its founding in 2012.
It has been decided to hold the MNL2 tournament with a total of seven teams. In the league includes the MFF's youth teams and five other clubs. Silver Stars and Mawlamyine City will not be participating in the MNL-2 this season.
It is decided that the MNL-2 will be played with seven teams. The teams include Dagon Star United, Junior Lions, Young Boys, Kachin United, university, Yaw Myay, Mawyawadi and Kachin United. Due to financial issues and budget cuts, university will not be promoted to the 2023 Myanmar National League. Additionally, Junior Lions and Young Boys will also not be promoted regardless of their results, due to them being MFF based clubs. Instead, the four teams that does not have financial restraints or issues will be playing for promotion. The four teams are Dagon Star United, Yaw Myay, Mawyawadi and Kachin United. The top two teams in the end of season standings will be promoted to the 2023 Myanmar National League. No teams will be relegated unless a new MNL-3 has been scheduled, which is not confirmed.

The MNL-2 is the second-tier football league of Myanmar. The official name is MNL-2 League. The inaugural season began in 2013.
The 2014 MNL-2 New Holland League is the second edition of MNL-2. The first round of the season began on 1 February and ended on 28 March. The schedule for the second round will be released after completion of the first round. The two guest teams taking part in MNL-2 will not be qualified to either MNL or MFF Cup.
The 2015 General Aung San Shield is the first season of Myanmar knockout football competition. The tournament is organized by the Myanmar Football Federation. It is the league cup competition started in 2015 Myanmar football season. This cup succeeded the Myanmar Football Federation Cup. MFF has changed the cup competition style as follows.
Dagon Stars United Football Club is a Burmese professional football club based in Dagon Township, Yangon and founded in 2009. Dagon FC plays in MNL-2 since 2009. In 2015 MNL-2 season, they did not promote to Myanmar National League. In 2022, Dagon FC name changed to Dagon Stars United Football Club.
The 2016 Myanmar National League, also known as the 2016 Ooredoo Myanmar National League, was the 7th season of the Myanmar National League, the top Burmese professional league for association football clubs since its founding in 2009.The transfer period for the 2016 season was from 1 November 2015 to 8 January 2016.
The MNL-2 2016 is the Myanmar National League's fourth full regular season. Four new clubs will join in 2016 MNL-2. There are Mahar United Football Club, United of Thanlyin Football Club, Thihadeepa United Football Club and City Stars Football Club. 2016 MNL-2 will start on 15 January. New clubs must play a qualifying round. Only three clubs will qualify to play in MNL-2.

The 2017 Myanmar National League, also known as the 2017 Max Cement Myanmar National League, is the 8th season of the Myanmar National League, the top Burmese professional league for association football clubs since its founding in 2009. The nation's highest professional football league was shaken up at the end of the 2016 season following a series of surprise announcements by MNL-1 teams Zwegapin United and Zeyar Shwe Myay stating that they were going to drop out of the League in the next season. Also, Manaw Myay announced the team would be disbanded, despite winning promotion to Myanmar’s premier domestic league by finishing the season's MNL-2 from the first place. A committee meeting between the Myanmar Football Federation and Myanmar National League officials held in Yangon on September 10 decided to reverse Southern Myanmar's relegation to MNL-2 in the next season, while Nay Pyi Taw received a surprise promotion into the first-tier league. Facing the loss of three squads and fears of scheduling complications for an 11-team league, MFF officials resolved to allow Southern Myanmar to remain in MNL-1, despite an 11th-place finish with only 14 points in the 2016 season. MNL-2 second-place finishers G.F.A, as well as third-place Nay Pyi Taw, were also promoted to the top league to maintain a 12-team schedule.
The MNL-2 2017 is the MNL-2's fifth full regular season.

The 2018 National League 2, also known as the 2018 MPT Myanmar National League 2, is the sixth season of the MNL-2, the second division league for association football clubs since its founding in 2012. At the end of the 2017 MNL-2, City Yangon F.C. won the MNL-2 title. And then, City Yangon F.C. and Sagaing United promoted to 2018 Myanmar National League. But City Yangon F.C. quit from Myanmar National League. So, Myawady FC auto promoted to 2018 Myanmar National League. City Yangon F.C. and Chin United F.C. abandoned their clubs. In 2018 National League 2, there is only seven will play for MNL-2 winner.

The 2019 Myanmar National League is the 10th season of the Myanmar National League, the top Myanmar professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2009, also known as MPT Myanmar National League due to the sponsorship deal with Myanma Posts and Telecommunications. A total of 12 teams will compete in the league. The season began on 12 January 2019 and is scheduled to conclude on 24 September 2019.
The 2019 National League 2, also known as the 2019 MPT Myanmar National League 2, is the seventh season of the MNL-2, the second division league for association football clubs since its founding in 2012. At the end of the 2018 MNL-2, Royal Thanlyin won the MNL-2 title. After 2018 MNL-2 finished, Royal Thanlyin and Dagon FC promoted to 2019 Myanmar National League. Chin United will play again in 2019 MNL-2.

The 2020 National League 2, also known as the 2020 MPT Myanmar National League 2, is the eighth season of the MNL-2, the second division league for association football clubs since its founding in 2012. 3 months after being temporarily cancelled, the league itself was suspended.
The 2020 General Aung San Shield was scheduled to be the sixth season of Myanmar knockout football competition. The tournament is organized by the Myanmar Football Federation. This cup succeeded the Myanmar Football Federation Cup.
The 2023 Myanmar National League was the fourteenth season of first-division domestic football in Myanmar. It consisted of twelve teams, as two teams from the 2022 MNL-2 were promoted.
Kachin United Football Club is a Burmese football club based in Myitkyina Township, Kachin and founded in 2014. At first, they played under the name Pong Gan FC since 2015. In 2018 MNL-2 season, Pong Gan FC name changed to Kachin United Football Club. After 2022 MNL-2, The MNL-2 Champion, University and the runner-up, Junior Lions cannot qualify to MNL for Club criteria. MNL Committee provided Dagon Star United and Kachin United to play in 2023 Myanmar National League. 2023 Myanmar National League is their first time ever play for MNL-1.
