The 2022 Mid-American Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Mid-American Conference held from October 30 through November 6, 2022. The First Round was held at campus sites. The semifinals and finals took place at UB Stadium in Buffalo, New York, home of the Buffalo Bulls, the regular season conference champions. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Bowling Green Falcons were the defending champions, [1] and they were unsuccessful in defending their title as they lost to Ball State on penalties in the Semifinals. Ball State would go on to lose to Buffalo in the Final 2–0. [2] The title was the second for the Buffalo women's soccer program both of which have come under head coach Shawn Burke. [3] As tournament champions, Buffalo earned the Mid-American's automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament.
Six Mid-American Conference schools participated in the tournament. Teams were seeded by conference record. A tiebreaker was required to determine the fifth and sixth seeds and which team would not qualify for the tournament as Miami (OH), Western Michigan, and Kent State all finished with seventeen points in regular season conference play. During the regular season Miami (OH) defeated Western Michigan and tied with Kent State. Western Michigan defeated Kent State and lost to Miami (OH). Kent State tied with Miami (OH) and lost to Western Michigan. Therefore, using the same point system that was used for the regular season standings, Miami (OH) had four points and earned the fifth seed, Western Michigan had three points and earned the sixth seed, while Kent State and one point and did not qualify for the tournament. The semifinals and finals took place at Dix Stadium in Kent, Ohio, home of the Kent State Golden Flashes, the highest remaining seed in the tournament following the quarterfinal matches. The eight-team single-elimination tournament will consist of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Kent State Golden Flashes were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 2–1 semifinal loss to the Bowling Green Falcons. The Toledo Rockets won the tournament with a 2–1 win in overtime over Bowling Green in the final. The title was the fifth for the Toledo women's soccer program and the first for head coach TJ Buchholz.
The 2017–18 Ohio Bobcats men's basketball team represented Ohio University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by fourth-year head coach Saul Phillips, played their home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 14–17, 7–11 in MAC play to finish in a tie for fourth place in the East Division. They lost in the first round of the MAC tournament to Miami (OH).

The Toledo Rockets were the defending champions, but they did not qualify for the tournament after finishing 10th in the regular season. The Bowling Green Falcons won the tournament with a 5–4 penalty shootout win over the Ball State Cardinals in the final. The title was the third for the Bowling Green women's soccer program and the first for head coach Matt Fannon.

The Bowling Green Falcons were the defending champions, and they successfully defended their title with a 3–1 penalty shootout win over the Eastern Michigan in the final. The title was the fourth for the Bowling Green women's soccer program and the second for head coach Matt Fannon.
The 2020–21 Ohio University Bobcats men's basketball team represented Ohio University for the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats were led by second-year head coach Jeff Boals, who was a 1995 graduate of Ohio University. The team played their home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. In a season limited due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, they finished the season 17–8, 9–5 in MAC play to finish in fifth place. As the No. 5 seed in the MAC tournament, they defeated Kent State, Toledo, and Buffalo to win the tournament championship. A a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 13 seed in the West region. There they upset No. 4-seeded Virginia in the First Round before falling to No. 5-seeded Creighton in the Second Round.

Second-seeded Buffalo defeated top-seeded Central Michigan in the MAC tournament final and represented the MAC in the NCAA tournament where they lost to West Virginia.
