The 2009–10 Primera División de México season is the 63rd professional season of Mexico's top-flight football league, and 13th season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021.

The 2017–18 Liga MX Femenil season was the inaugural season of the top-flight women's football league in Mexico. The season is contested by sixteen teams, being the counterpart women's teams of the men's league, Liga MX. Of the 18 Liga MX clubs, Puebla and Lobos BUAP were the two teams who do not field a women's team.

The 2019 North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship was the first edition of the North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship which is a qualifying tournament for the 2019 IHF Super Globe. It was held in Lake Placid, United States at the United States Olympic Training Center from 9 to 12 May 2019.

The 2019 IHF Super Globe was the thirteenth edition of the IHF Men's Super Globe, a yearly club world championship in handball organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The tournament was held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia from 27 to 31 August 2019.

The 2009–10 C.F. Monterrey season was the 75th season in the football club's history and the 60th consecutive season in the top flight of Mexican football. The club participated in the Apertura and Bicentenario tournaments of the Mexican Primera División as well as in the Copa Libertadores.

The 2022 IHF Women's Junior World Championship was the 23rd edition of the IHF Women's Junior World Championship, held in Slovenia from 22 June to 3 July 2022 under the aegis of International Handball Federation (IHF). For the first time, the championship was organised by the Handball Federation of Slovenia. The number of teams increased from 24 to 32.

2021 Nor.Ca. Womens Handball Championship

‌The 2021 Nor.Ca. Women's Handball Championship was the fourth edition of the championship, held from 22 to 27 August 2021 at Elgin, United States under the aegis of North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation. It was the first time in history that the championship is organised by the USA Team Handball. It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top team from the championship directly qualifying for the event to be held in Spain. The tournament was held behind closed doors, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

2022 African Mens Handball Championship

The 2022 African Men's Handball Championship was the 25th edition of the African Men's Handball Championship, held from 11 to 18 July 2022 in Egypt. It acted as the African qualifying tournament for the 2023 World Men's Handball Championship in Poland and Sweden. Originally it was scheduled to be held in Morocco from 13 to 23 January 2022.

The 2021–22 Liga MX Femenil season was the fifth season of the premier women's football league in Mexico. The season began on 16 July 2021 and finished on 30 May 2022.

The 2021 North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship will be the second edition of the North American and Caribbean Senior Club Championship which is a qualifying tournament for the 2021 IHF Men's Super Globe. It will be held in Fremont, United States at the Centerville Junior High School from 25 to 27 August 2021.

The 2022 North America and Caribbean Women's Junior Handball Championship was the first edition of the tournament, it took place in Mexico City, Mexico, from 4 to 8 April 2022. It acted as the North America and Caribbean qualifying tournament for the 2022 Women's Junior World Handball Championship.
