The 2022 Wexford Senior Hurling Championship was the 112th staging of the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Wexford County Board in 1889. The championship ran from 28 June to 14 August 2022.

Contents

Rapparees entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Ferns St Aidan's in the semi-finals. [1] [2] Oylegate–Glenbrien joined the championship after gaining promotion from the intermediate grade.

The final was played on 14 August 2022 at Chadwick's Wexford Park, between Ferns St Aidan's and St Martin's, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. Ferns St Aidan's won the match by 1-20 to 0-22 to claim their first ever championship title. [3] [4]

Ian Byrne was the championship's top scorer with 4-68.

The 2018 Wexford Senior Hurling Championship was the 116th staging of the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Wexford County Board in 1889. The championship began on 20 April 2018 and ended on 21 October 2018.

The tournament consists of 12 teams, with the winner going on to represent Wexford in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage.

The original championship draw took place on 17 February 2020; however, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Gaelic games, the draws for a rescheduled championship took place on 22 June 2020 with a new format being adopted. The championship eventually began on 17 July 2020 and ended on 23 August 2020.

The 1978 Wexford Senior Hurling Championship was the 68th staging of the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Wexford County Board in 1889. The championship began on 22 April 1978 and ended on 17 September 1978.

The 1979 Wexford Senior Hurling Championship was the 69th staging of the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Wexford County Board in 1889.
