2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Group F

Group F was one of eight groups of the preliminary round of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. It took place from 26 to 30 August 2023 and consisted of Slovenia, Cape Verde, Georgia, and Venezuela. [1] Each team played each other once, for a total of three games per team, with all games played at the Okinawa Arena, Okinawa City, Japan. The top two teams advanced to the second round and the bottom two teams qualified for the classification rounds. [2]

Slovenia vs. Venezuela

This was the first game between Slovenia and Venezuela in the World Cup. The Slovenians won in the semi-finals of the 2020 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Kaunas, which was the last competitive game between the two teams.

The top four teams from the preliminary round groups shall qualify in the single-elimination tournament. The losers in the semifinals will play for the bronze medal. Teams from Groups A and B shall play at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid in Madrid, while those from Groups C and D shall play at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Group E of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup was the group stage of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup for the Czech Republic, Turkey, United States and Japan. Each team played each other once, for a total of three games per team, with all games played at Shanghai Oriental Sports Center, Shanghai. After all of the games were played, the top two teams with the best records qualified for the Second round and the bottom two teams played in the Classification Round.

Group J of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup was the second stage of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup for four teams, top two teams from Group C and two from Group D. The results of round one were carried over. The teams played against the teams from the group they have not faced before, for a total of two games per team, with all games played at Wuhan Gymnasium, Wuhan. After all of the games were played, the top two teams advanced to Quarter-finals, the third placed team was classified 9 to 12 and the fourth placed team 13 to 16.
