The 2023 LPL season was the 11th season of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), a Chinese professional esports league for the video game League of Legends . The season was divided into two splits: Spring and Summer. The Spring Split began on January 14, 2023, and culminated with the Spring Split Finals on April 15, 2023. The Summer Split began on May 29, 2023, and culminated with the LCS Championship Final on August 5, 2023.
JD Gaming won the Spring Split playoffs, directly qualifying them for the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), while Bilibili Gaming finished as the runners-up, qualifying them for the MSI play-in stage. JD Gaming also won the Summer Split playoffs, earning a direct qualification to the 2023 World Championship. Bilibili Gaming qualified for the 2023 World Championship via Championship Points, and both LNG Esports and Weibo Gaming also qualified for the 2023 World Championship through the Regional Finals.
The Spring Split regular season ran from January 14 to March 25, 2023. The 17 teams competed in a single round-robin tournament, where all matches were best-of-three. The top 10 teams from the regular season secured spots in the playoffs. The top two teams automatically progressed to a four-team double-elimination tournament. Meanwhile, the next six teams competed in a single-elimination king-of-the-hill tournament, with the top two teams advancing to join the initial top two in the four-team double-elimination tournament. The Regional Finals was a tournament consisting of the top four teams in the LPL based on championship points that had not directly qualified for the 2023 World Championship. The top two teams faced off, and the winner earned a spot in the World Championship. Simultaneously, the bottom two teams played against each other, with the losing team being eliminated. The remaining two teams then competed for the last LPL spot in the 2023 World Championship. [3]

Invictus Gaming is a Chinese multi-game esports organization founded in 2011 by businessman Wang Sicong. They are primarily known for their Dota 2, League of Legends, and StarCraft II teams. IG's Dota team won The International 2012, and its League of Legends team won the 2018 World Championship.

Royal Never Give Up (RNG) is a Chinese esports organization whose League of Legends team competes in the League of Legends Pro League. It was established in May 2015. RNG won the 2016 LPL Spring Playoffs, 2018 LPL Spring Playoffs and 2018 LPL Summer Playoffs, and is the champion of the 2018, 2021, and 2022 Mid-Season Invitational. Its sister team is Royal Club. The organization also has a Dota 2 team, which participated in The International 2019.
The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is an annual League of Legends international tournament hosted by Riot Games in the middle of years, since 2015. It is the second most important international League of Legends tournament aside from the World Championship.
LGD Gaming is a Chinese professional esports organization based in Hangzhou. It is one of the oldest esports organizations in China and currently has players competing in Dota 2, Honor of Kings, League of Legends, Overwatch, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
Kim Tae-sang, better known as Doinb, is a South Korean League of Legends player who most recently played for the Chinese team LNG Esports. Spending almost his entire career in the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), the highest level of Chinese League of Legends, Doinb was the first player in the LPL to win the title of most valuable player twice; he won the title while playing for Qiao Gu Reapers and FunPlus Phoenix, in 2017 and 2019 respectively. Doinb won his first international title after he and his team swept G2 Esports in the grand finals of the 2019 World Championship.

Bilibili Gaming (BLG) is a professional esports organisation based in China. It was formed in December 2017, when Bilibili, Chinese video sharing website, acquired the I May League of Legends roster. The team expanded into Overwatch in March 2019 with the formation of an Overwatch Contenders academy team for the Hangzhou Spark, an Overwatch League team owned by Bilibili. Later that year, BLG's Overwatch team won the LanStory Cup 2019 Summer tournament.

The 2024 Mid-Season Invitational was the ninth Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), a Riot Games-organised tournament for League of Legends, a multiplayer online battle arena video game. The tournament was hosted in Chengdu, China, from May 1 to 19, 2024. All stages of the tournament were played at the Chengdu Financial City Performing Arts Center.
The 2024 LPL season is the 12th and ongoing season of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL), a Chinese professional esports league for the video game League of Legends. Similar to its previous yearly splits, the 2024 LPL season will be divided into two splits: Spring and Summer. The Spring Split began on 22 January and will end on 20 April 2024 for the Grand Finals. Meanwhile, the Summer Split will begin in the latter part of 2024 following the conclusion of the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2024.
