The 2023 New South Wales Rugby League Presidents Cup was a competition to determine the best semi-professional Rugby League team in New South Wales. It was the fourth season of the competition. The winners of each conference will play a 2-week knockout series to determine the Presidents Cup winners.

The competition format will be two conferences, with the top 4 from each conference qualifying for an 8 team finals series. Newcastle were a rugby league team who played in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership from 1908–1909, one of the nine foundation clubs. After the formation of several clubs in January 1908, members of the NSWRFL came to Newcastle to hold talks with the local footballing community at a meeting on 8 February 1908. However, at this meeting the motion to have a public meeting was lost. The local rugby union fraternity threatened sanctions and further recruitment occurred in secret. Finally a band of Rebel Pioneers assembled and signed up on 10 April, just days before the start of the competition.

The lineup of clubs remained unchanged from the previous year, with fifteen teams contesting the 2005 Telstra Premiership, which culminated in a grand final between the Wests Tigers and the North Queensland Cowboys.

Melbourne finished the regular season first so were awarded the minor premiership, but this was later revoked due to the Melbourne Storm salary cap breach.

The 2022 Canberra Raiders Cup will consist of 18 regular season rounds that will begin on 2 April and end on 27 August. There will be 3 playoff rounds, beginning on 3 September with the first semi-final, and ending on 18 September with the Grand Final.

The 2024 Newcastle Rugby League Competition was a competition to determine the best semi-professional Rugby League team in Newcastle. Season 2024 saw Maitland Pickers defeat Central Newcastle in the First Grade Grand Final, 24–4. This was Maitland's 15th premiership in the competition's history. Central Newcastle appeared in their first Grand Final since 1963, breaking a 49-year drought. The inaugural Women's Premiership was also contested in 2024, with Maitland Pickers Women's team claiming the title.
