Naomi Osaka defeated Jennifer Brady in the final, 6–4, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Australian Open. It was her second Australian Open title and fourth major title overall. With the win, Osaka extended her winning streak to 21 matches, dating to the 2020 Cincinnati Open. She only lost one set during the tournament, to Garbiñe Muguruza in the fourth round; she also saved two match points in that match, making her the eighth woman to win the Australian Open after saving match points. Osaka became the third player in the Open Era, after Monica Seles and Roger Federer, to win their first four major finals.

Defending champion Ashleigh Barty won the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Miami Open after Bianca Andreescu retired from the final with the scoreline at 6–3, 4–0. Barty saved a match point en route to the title, in the second round against Kristína Kučová.

Tamara Zidanšek was the two-time defending champion, having won the last edition in 2019, however she was unable to defend her title as she was still competing at the 2021 French Open, reaching the semi-final of the Grand Slam.

Samantha Stosur and Zhang Shuai defeated Coco Gauff and Caty McNally in the final, 6–3, 3–6, 6–3 to win the women's doubles title at the 2021 US Open. It was Stosur's fourth major title in women's doubles and eighth major overall, as well as Zhang's second major title; this was the team's second major title, following the 2019 Australian Open. This was the first major final for Gauff and for McNally.

Sloane Stephens defeated Marie Bouzková in the final, 7–5, 1–6, 6–2, to win the singles title at the 2022 Abierto Zapopan. It marked the first final and title for Stephens since 2018.

It was the 28th edition of the tournament for the men which is part of the 2023 ATP Challenger Tour and 1st edition for the women which is part of the 2023 WTA 125 tournaments. It took place at the Club Deportivo Potosino in San Luis Potosí, Mexico between 27 March and 9 April 2023.
