Rebecca Catherine Marino is a Canadian professional tennis player. On 11 July 2011, she reached her highest WTA singles ranking of world No. 38. Marino was awarded Female Player of the Year by Tennis Canada two times, in 2010 and 2011.
Jana Fett is a Croatian tennis player. On 30 October 2017, Fett reached her best singles ranking of world No. 97, and on 21 May 2018, she reached her best doubles ranking of No. 348. Fett has won nine singles and five doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit.
Catherine "Caty" McNally is an American professional tennis player. She achieved her career-high singles ranking of world No. 54 on 22 May 2023 and her best WTA doubles ranking of No. 11 on 4 April 2022. She has won eight doubles titles on the WTA Tour, three of them with Coco Gauff, and the pair also reached the final of the 2021 US Open. She reached another major final at the 2022 US Open with Taylor Townsend. She has also won six doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.
Veronika Kudermetova was the defending champion from 2019, when the tournament was last held as a WTA 125K series event, but she chose to compete in Dubai instead.
Paula Badosa defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final, 7–6(7–5), 2–6, 7–6(7–2) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters. At three hours and four minutes, the final was the longest-ever Indian Wells women's final. Badosa became the first Spanish woman to win the title. This was her first WTA 1000 title and second career WTA Tour singles title. Azarenka was aiming to become the first woman to win the title three times.

Iga Świątek defeated Naomi Osaka in the final, 6–4, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Miami Open. She became the fourth woman in history to complete the Sunshine Double in singles, having won Indian Wells two weeks earlier. It was Świątek's first Miami Open title, her third consecutive WTA 1000 title, and her fourth WTA 1000-level title overall. Świątek became the first woman in history to win the first three WTA 1000 titles of the year in succession, the first player since Serena Williams in 2013 to win three consecutive WTA 1000 titles, and extended her winning streak to 17 matches. She lost no sets and just 26 games en route to the title, the fewest since Martina Hingis dropped 21 games in 2000; she was the first player to win the title in Miami without dropping a set since Azarenka in 2016. Additionally, Świątek won Miami exactly 10 years after fellow Polish tennis player Agnieszka Radwańska won the tournament in 2012.
Misaki Doi and Rebecca Peterson won the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Swedish Open after Mihaela Buzărnescu and Irina Khromacheva withdrew from the final, due to Buzărnescu's knee injury.

Jessica Pegula defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Guadalajara Open. Pegula defeated four major champions in succession en route to her first WTA 1000 title, and she saved three match points en route, in her second-round match against Elena Rybakina.
Ashlyn Krueger defeated Zhu Lin in the final, 6–3, 7–6(8–6) to win the singles title at the 2023 Japan Women's Open. It was her first WTA Tour title.
Anna Kalinskaya won the title, defeating Jana Fett in the final, 7–5, 6–4. It was her maiden WTA 125 title, and she saved three match points en route, in the quarterfinals against Hailey Baptiste.
Hailey Baptiste and Whitney Osuigwe won the title, defeating Sophie Chang and Ashley Lahey in the final, 2–6, 6–2, [10–1].

Defending champion Jessica Pegula defeated Amanda Anisimova in the final, 6–3, 2–6, 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 Canadian Open. It was her third WTA 1000 and sixth career WTA Tour title. Pegula became the first player to defend the women's singles title since Martina Hingis in 2000. Ranked No. 132, Anisimova became the lowest-ranked women's singles finalist at the Canadian Open since Alycia Moulton in 1984.
Zheng Qinwen defeated Sofia Kenin in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–3 to win the singles title at the 2024 Toray Pan Pacific Open. It was her fifth WTA Tour singles title and second WTA 500 title.
