Destanee Gabriella Aiava is an Australian professional tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings of world No. 147 in singles, achieved on 11 September 2017, and No. 133 in doubles, achieved on 5 August 2024.
Casey Dellacqua was the defending champion having won the previous edition in 2011, however she had retired from professional tennis in April 2018.
Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic defeated Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová in the final, 6–2, 6–1 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2020 Australian Open. It was their second Australian Open title together. Despite the loss, Hsieh regained the WTA no. 1 doubles ranking for the first time since 2014, replacing her partner Strýcová. Mladenovic, Aryna Sabalenka and Xu Yifan were also in contention for the top ranking.
Destanee Aiava and Lisa Mays won the title after defeating Alexandra Osborne and Jessy Rompies 5–7, 6–3, [10–6] in the final.
Kimberly Birrell was the defending champion, but retired against Taylah Preston in the quarterfinals.
Mai Hontama was the defending champion but chose not to participate.
Asia Muhammad was the reigning champion from when the tournament was last held in 2019, but chose not to compete this year.
Destanee Aiava and Naiktha Bains were the defending champions from when the tournament was last held in 2019, but with Bains choosing not to participate, Aiava played alongside Maddison Inglis, but lost in the final to Talia Gibson and Priscilla Hon.
This was the first edition of the tournament.
Defending champion Coco Gauff defeated Elina Svitolina in the final, 6–7(4–7), 6–3, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 WTA Auckland Open. It was her seventh career title and first since winning the 2023 US Open. This was the first time in her career that Gauff successfully defended a WTA Tour singles title.
Hsieh Su-wei and Elise Mertens defeated Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jeļena Ostapenko in the final, 6–1, 7–5 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2024 Australian Open. It was their second major title as a team, Hsieh's eighth major title, and Mertens' fourth. With the win, Hsieh claimed both the women's doubles and the mixed doubles titles at the event. Hsieh was the first woman to win both titles at the Australian Open since Rennae Stubbs in 2000, and the first to do so at any major since Martina Hingis at the 2017 US Open. Ostapenko became the first Latvian finalist at the event.
Defending champion Katie Boulter defeated Karolína Plíšková in the final, 4–6, 6–3, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 Nottingham Open. Boulter became the first woman in the tournament's history to defend the title, and became the second player to win the tournament twice, after Elena Baltacha.
Dayana Yastremska was the reigning champion, but chose not to participate this year.
Aryna Sabalenka defeated Jessica Pegula in the final, 7–5, 7–5 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 US Open. It was her third major singles title. Sabalenka was the first Belarusian to win the singles title, and the fifth player to win both hardcourt majors in the same calendar year, after Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis and Angelique Kerber. Sabalenka dropped only one set en route to the title, against Ekaterina Alexandrova in the third round.
Taylah Preston was the defending champion but chose to compete in Hua Hin instead.
Astra Sharma was the defending champion, but chose not to participate.
Talia Gibson and Priscilla Hon were the defending champions but chose not to participate.
The 2024 NSW Open was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the fourth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2024 ATP Challenger Tour and the tenth edition of the tournament which was part of the 2024 ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. It took place in Sydney, Australia between 28 October and 3 November 2024.
Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend defeated defending champion Hsieh Su-wei and her partner Jeļena Ostapenko in the final, 6–2, 6–7(4–7), 6–3 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2025 Australian Open. It was their second major title as a team, and the second major title overall for Townsend and 10th for Siniaková. Siniaková became the first woman to win 10 or more major doubles titles since Martina Hingis at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships.
Olivia Gadecki and John Peers defeated Kimberly Birrell and John-Patrick Smith in the final, 3–6, 6–4, [10–6] to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2025 Australian Open. It was the first major mixed doubles title for Gadecki, and second for Peers. They saved a match point en route to the title, in the quarterfinals against Zhang Shuai and Rohan Bopanna. Gadecki and Peers became the first all-Australian team to win the title since Jarmila Wolfe and Matthew Ebden in 2013. For the first time in the Open Era, and first time overall since 1967, two all-Australian pairs contested the final.
