The 2024 Tarqumiyah shootout was a drive-by shooting on 1 September 2024 in which three Israeli police officers were shot dead by gunmen from Hebron close to Tarqumiyah checkpoint. The shooting took place on route 35 in the Hebron Governorate of Palestine. [1] [2] [3]
The 2024 Israeli military operation in the northern West Bank [4] [5] in August was followed two attacks in Gush Etzion [2] including a car bombing and a roadside bomb. [1] In all cases, the perpetrators were from Hebron.
Shortly after 9 a.m., three Israeli officers were killed in a drive-by shooting. The gunman later abandoned the car by the roadside and escaped on foot. [1] A man and woman in their 30s and a man in his 50s were in critical condition and died shortly after. [1] [2]
The three Israeli police officers killed in the attack were identified as Roni Shakuri, Arik Ben Eliyahu and Hadas Branch. Roni Shakuri, 61, was the father of Mor Shakuri, who was killed in the 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel. [6]
The shooting was carried out by a lone perpetrator, identified as a resident of Hebron born in Jordan who worked as a security officer for the Palestinian Presidential Guard until 2015. He was later killed by Israeli soldiers who besieged his home in Hebron. [7]
The Khalil al-Rahman Brigade claimed responsibility for the shooting, which was praised by Hamas. [8]
Note: This compilation includes only those attacks that resulted in casualties. Attacks which did not kill or wound are not included.
This timeline of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict lists events from 1948 to the present. The Israeli–Palestinian conflict emerged from intercommunal conflict in Mandatory Palestine between Palestinian Jews and Arabs, often described as the background to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. The conflict in its modern phase evolved since the declaration of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948 and consequent intervention of Arab armies on behalf of the Palestinian Arabs.

The 2010 Palestinian militancy campaign was a coordinated effort by 13 Palestinian militant groups, led by Islamist group Hamas, to derail peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The campaign consisted of attacks against Israelis in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and Israel in which, according to a Hamas declaration in early September, "all options are open". The participating groups also included Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Popular Resistance Committees and an unnamed splinter group of Fatah. Some Israeli and Palestinian officials and analysts familiar with Hamas believe that the true target of the campaign is the Palestinian Authority, which is led by Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah.
On 20 June 2003, the Goldsteins, an Israeli family of four, were in a car on Route 60 in the West Bank headed towards Jerusalem when two Hamas members waiting in ambush on the roadside opened fire with AK-47s, hitting all four occupants. With the driver, Tzvi Goldstein, injured, the front passenger and father of the driver took the steering wheel and helped drive the car away from the gunmen and for a further eight miles in search of help before the car flipped over.

The year 2023 in Israel was defined first by wide-scale protests against a proposed judicial reform, and then by the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, which led to a war and to Israel invading the Gaza Strip.
The following is a list of events during the Israeli–Palestinian conflict in 2022.

The Jenin Brigades, also referred to as the Jenin Battalion or Jenin Brigade, is a Palestinian militant group in the West Bank. It was founded in Jenin in 2021 by Jamil Al-Amouri, a militant of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). The organization is based in the Jenin refugee camp in the North of the West Bank. Like most other West Bank militias, the Jenin Brigades are an umbrella formation affiliated with PIJ, Hamas, and the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades.
During the Israel–Hamas war, Israeli forces have carried out multiple ground incursions, occasionally accompanied by airstrikes, into several Palestinian cities and refugee camps in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, including Jenin and Tulkarm. The Israeli incursions have led to clashes with Palestinian militants. 806 West Bank Palestinians have been killed by Israel since the conflict began, including 143 children. The United Nations recorded more than 800 Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians between October 2023 and May 2024. Israel has arrested an estimated 10,000 West Bank Palestinians between 7 October 2023 and August 2024. On 15 December, Doctors Without Borders reported 2023 was the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank in recorded history.
On 28 August 2024, Israel launched a large-scale military operation in the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian internal political violence has existed throughout the course of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, notwithstanding the fact that the vast majority of Palestinian political violence has been directed against Israeli targets. Some analysts have referred to this type of violence as "intrafada", a play on "intifada".
On 6 January 2025, three Palestinian gunman carried out a shooting attack on a bus and two cars in al-Funduq, northern West Bank, killing three people and injuring eight others.
On 21 January 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a major raid into Jenin in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The Israeli operation, titled "Iron Wall", is targeting the Jenin Brigades, a local Palestinian militia. The IDF stated that the aims of the operation are to preserve its "freedom of action” in the West Bank, to neutralize militant infrastructure, and to eliminate imminent threats. For the IDF, the fighting marks a shift in military focus to the West Bank and away from the Gaza Strip, where a ceasefire that halted the Gaza war was implemented on 19 January 2025.
