The Huskies were led by Laura Valentino in her 5th year as head coach, and play as part of the Big East Conference. They played their home games at Connecticut Softball Stadium.

The Huskies finished the regular season tied for second in the Big East and were eliminated by Creighton in the semifinals of the 2024 Big East softball tournament.

Previous season

UConn finished with a final record of 34–15, and finished first in the Big East with a conference record of 19–5. They reached the semifinals of the Big East tournament, but fell to Villanova for the third year in a row.

The 2010 Big East women's basketball tournament took place in March 2010 at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. The winner will receive the Big East Conference's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA tournament. This was the second consecutive year Big East tournament to include all 16 of the conference's teams. The teams finishing 9 through 16 in the regular season standings played first round games, while teams 5 through 8 received byes to the second round. The top 4 teams during the regular season received double-byes to the quarterfinals.

The 2013–14 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2013–2014 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Huskies were led by second-year head coach Kevin Ollie. The Huskies split their home games between the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs, Connecticut. The Huskies were members of the American Athletic Conference. One year after being banned from postseason play for sanctions, the Huskies returned to the Final Four, where they defeated the Florida Gators in the national semifinal round and the Kentucky Wildcats in the 2014 National Championship Game. Shabazz Napier was named the tournament's MOP. The next day, the UConn Huskies women's team won the women's NCAA basketball tournament, only the second time that a school has won both the men's and women's Division I national basketball championships in the same year; UConn first accomplished this in 2004.

Karen Mullins is an American college softball coach, most recently the long-time head coach of the Connecticut Huskies softball team. She served in that role from 1984 to 2014. She announced her retirement on May 19, 2014.

The Huskies lost their first game against eventual runner-up UCLA, defeated Florida State and were eliminated by eventual third-place finisher Southwestern Louisiana.

They reached the final of the Big East Tournament, but fell to Villanova.

The 2021–22 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies are led by fourth-year head coach Dan Hurley in the team's second season since their return to the Big East Conference. The Huskies played their home games at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Connecticut and the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut. They finished the season 23–10, 13–6 in Big East play to finish in third place. They defeated Seton Hall in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals of the Big East tournament where they lost to Villanova. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 5 seed in the West Region, where they were upset in the First Round by New Mexico State.
