The 2024 NCAA Division I Softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, begins in February 2024. The season will progress through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and will conclude with the 2024 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2024 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and held annually in Oklahoma City at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium, will end in June 2024.

Realignment

One school began a transition from NCAA Division II to Division I on July 1, 2023. [1]

A total of 15 softball-sponsoring schools changed conferences after the 2023 season. [2]

The 2024 season is the last for 15 softball schools in their current conferences.

They competed in the Big 12 Conference, where they finished the season with a 59–3 record, including 17–1 in conference play.

The 2023 Oklahoma Sooners softball team was an American college softball team that represented the University of Oklahoma during the 2023 NCAA Division I softball season. The Sooners were led by Patty Gasso in her twenty-ninth season, and played their home games at OU Softball Complex. They competed in the Big 12 Conference, where they finished with a 61–1 record, including 18–0 in conference play. The Sooners only loss on the season was during an early season tournament in Waco, Texas to the Baylor Bears, 3–4.

The 2022 SEC softball season began play Thursday, February 10, and conference play began on Thursday, March 11. The 2022 Southeastern Conference softball tournament was May 10–14 at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium in Gainesville, Florida. Arkansas played Missouri in the tournament final, winning by a score of 4–0. Vanderbilt University is the only full member of the Southeastern Conference to not sponsor a softball program.

The 2024 Lamar Lady Cardinals softball team represents Lamar University during the 2024 NCAA Division I softball season. The Lady Cardinals play their home games at Lamar Softball Complex as a member of the Southland Conference and are led by head coach Amy Hooks in her sixth-year at Lamar.

The 2024 Houston Christian Huskies softball team represents Houston Christian University during the 2024 NCAA Division I softball season. The Huskies play their home games at Husky Field and are led by thirty-third year head coach Mary-Ellen Hall. They are members of the Southland Conference.

The 2024 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 16, 2024. The season will progress through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and conclude with the 2024 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament and 2024 Men's College World Series (MCWS). The MCWS, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, will end in June 2024.

The 2024 Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders softball team represents Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi during the 2024 NCAA Division I softball season. The Islanders play their home games at the softball facility at Chapman Field and are led by third-year head coach Kathleen Rodriguez. They are members of the Southland Conference.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2024 Southeastern Conference softball season</span> Sports season

The 2024 SEC softball season began play Thursday, February 8, and conference play begins on Friday, March 8. The 2024 Southeastern Conference softball tournament takes place May 7–11 at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama. Vanderbilt University is the only full member of the Southeastern Conference to not sponsor a softball program.
