The UNLV Rebels softball team represents the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Mountain West Conference. The Rebels are currently led by head coach Kristie Fox. The team plays its home games at Eller Media Stadium located on the university's campus. [2]

Sam Boyd Stadium is a closed football stadium in the Western United States, located in Whitney, Nevada, an unincorporated community in the Las Vegas Valley. It honors Sam Boyd (1910–1993), a major figure in the hotel and casino industry in Las Vegas. The stadium consisted of an uncovered horseshoe-shaped single-decked bowl, with temporary seating occasionally erected in the open north end zone. The artificial turf field had a conventional north–south orientation, at an elevation of 1,600 feet (490 m) above sea level.

The Fremont Cannon is the trophy awarded to the winner of the Battle for Nevada, an American college football rivalry game played annually by the Nevada Wolf Pack football team of the University of Nevada, Reno (Nevada) and the UNLV Rebels football team of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The trophy was built in 1970 and is a replica of a 19th-century Howitzer cannon that accompanied American explorer and politician John C. Frémont on an expedition to the American West and Nevada in the mid 19th century. The original cannon had been abandoned, due to heavy snows, in the Sierra Nevada in 1843. The replica cannon was originally fired following a touchdown by the team in possession of the cannon, but it has been inoperable since 1999. The wooden carriage is painted the school color of the team in possession, navy blue for Nevada or scarlet for UNLV. The trophy is the heaviest and most expensive in college football. Since 2012, the game is also part of the Silver State Series, the series of athletic competitions between the two schools.

Lori Harrigan-Mack is an American, former collegiate All-American, right-handed hitting, left-handed softball pitcher originally from Anaheim, California. She was a three-time Olympic Champion as a member of the Team USA winning in 1996, 2000 and 2004. Harrigan played collegiately from 1989–1992 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where she owns numerous records; she is the Big West Conference career leader in shutouts and innings pitched and is a USA Softball Hall of Fame honoree.

The 1986–87 UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team represented the University of Nevada Las Vegas in NCAA Division I men's competition in the 1986–87 season under head coach Jerry Tarkanian. The team played its home games in the Thomas & Mack Center, and was a member of the Pacific Coast Athletic Association (PCAA), now known as the Big West Conference; it would join the Western Athletic Conference in 1996 and become a charter member of its current conference, the Mountain West Conference, in 1999.

The UNLV Lady Rebels basketball team is the women's basketball team that represents the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada. The team currently competes in the Mountain West Conference. Since beginning in 1974, the Lady Rebels have an all-time record of 741–484. In the 1988–89 season, UNLV had their most successful season in school history. That year, they went to their lone Sweet Sixteen and lost to Texas 88–77. The Lady Rebels are currently coached by Lindy La Rocque, who is in her fifth year at UNLV.

The team is a member of the Mountain West Conference, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. UNLV's first baseball team was fielded on February 25, 1967. The team plays its home games at Earl Wilson Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. The Rebels are coached by Stan Stolte.

Joe Kristosik is a former American football player. After graduating from Bishop Gorman High School in Summerlin, Nevada, he entered the working world as a door-to-door salesman and a valet before enrolling at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was a walk-on to the UNLV Rebels football team and, after a redshirt season in 1994, he became the starting punter for the Rebels from 1995 to 1998. As a senior, he led the NCAA with an average of 46.2 yards on 76 punts. His average of 46.2 yards per punt was, at the time, the second-highest in NCAA history for a punter with at least 75 career attempts. Kristosik was a consensus first-team selection for the 1998 College Football All-America Team. He was inducted into the UNLV Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.

The 2015–16 UNLV Lady Rebels basketball team represented the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Rebels, led by eighth year head coach Kathy Olivier. They played their home games at the Thomas & Mack Center and the Cox Pavilion on UNLV's main campus in Paradise, Nevada. They were a member of the Mountain West Conference. They finished the season 18–14, 9–9 in Mountain West play to finish in a tie for fifth place. They advanced to the semifinals of the Mountain West women's tournament, where they lost to Fresno State.

In their first year under head coach Ron Meyer, the team compiled an 8–3 record, a significant improvement over the previous season.

The 1974 UNLV Rebels football team was an American football team that represented the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as an independent during the 1974 NCAA Division II football season. In their second year under head coach Ron Meyer, the Rebels won all eleven games in the regular season and were invited to the eight-team Division II playoffs. They advanced to the semifinals, and ended the year with a 12–1 record.

The 2022–23 UNLV Runnin' Rebels basketball team represented the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Runnin' Rebels were led by second-year head coach Kevin Kruger and played their home games for the 40th season at the Thomas & Mack Center in Paradise, Nevada. They participated as members of the Mountain West Conference for the 24th season. They finished the season 18–12, 7–11 in MWC play to finish in seventh place. In the MWC tournament, they defeated Air Force in the first round before losing to Boise State in the quarterfinals. They failed to receive an invite to a postseason tournament.
