Reese Atwood is an American college softball player for Texas. She was named Softball America Player of the Year in 2024.
Atwood attended Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus Christi,Texas. During the 2021 season,in her junior year,she had a .478 batting average with 33 hits,10 doubles,eight home runs and 29 runs batted in (RBI) with a .848 on-base percentage. [1] During the 2022 season,in her senior year,she hit .576 with 39 runs scored,38 hits,24 walks,28 extra-base hits,10 home runs,43 RBIs and 16 steals while posting a 2.053 slugging percentage. Following the season she was named to the SBLive Texas' First Team All-South Texas. [2]
Atwood was ranked as the nation's No. 1 catcher and No. 5 overall prospect by Extra Inning Softball for the class of 2022. On November 10,2021,she signed her National Letter of Intent to play at Texas. [3]
Atwood began her collegiate career for the Texas Longhorns in 2023. During her freshman year she appeared in 58 games,with 56 starts,and slashed .291/.313/.529,with 43 RBIs,and 91 total bases. Of her 50 hits,19 were extra base hits,including a team-leading 11 home runs and eight doubles. She finished the season with a .986 fielding percentage in 290 defensive opportunities while splitting time at catcher and first base. [1] She became the player in program history with a walk-off hit in three consecutive games from April 16 to April 22,2023. [4]
During her sophomore year in 2024,she batted .433,and led the league in home runs (21),total bases (144),and slugging percentage (.917). She also led the country with 83 RBIs during the regular season. She was named Big 12 Conference player of the week three times this season. She was also named the D1Softball Player and NFCA Player of the Week during the final week of the regular season after hitting .700 with four home runs and 13 RBIs in a series against Texas Tech. [5] Following the season she was named a unanimous All-Big 12 first team selection,and the Big 12 Conference Softball Player of the Year. [6] [7] She was also named the Softball America Player of the Year and a top-three finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Atwood was born to Tammy and Geoff Atwood,and has one sibling,Devin. Her mother played college basketball at Blinn College. [1]
Stacey "Nuvey" Nuveman-Deniz is an American,former professional softball player and current head coach at San Diego State. She played for the UCLA Bruins at the catcher position on-and-off from 1997 to 2002,winning a National Championship in 1999. She also won two Olympic gold medals and one silver medal for Team USA.
Tammy Kay Williams is an American,former collegiate four-time All-American,four-time professional All-Star softball player and coach. She played her natural position at shortstop from 2006 to 2009 at Northwestern,as well as the Team USA and Chicago Bandits softball team. She owns Northwestern' softball team all-time career records in batting average,home runs,hits and total bases. She helped lead the Wildcats to a national runner up finish in the 2006 Women's College World Series. Williams was drafted tenth overall by the Chicago Bandits in the 2009 NPF Draft,winning two Cowles Cup championships in 2011 and 2015. She later worked as a sports broadcaster for the Big Ten and an assistant softball coach at Northern Illinois.
Kaitlin Elizabeth Cochran is an American,former collegiate four-time first team All-American,retired softball player. She attended Rosary High School and Arizona State University from 2006 to 2009,where she won the 2008 Women's College World Series title. Also with United States women's national softball team,she won four World Cup of Softball crowns. She holds various records for the Sun Devils in the Pac-12 Conference. She was drafted first overall in the National Pro Fastpitch but elected not to play. She is also one of nine NCAA Division I players to bat .400 with 200 RBIs,50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for a career.
The Texas Longhorns softball team represents The University of Texas at Austin in NCAA Division I intercollegiate softball competition. The Longhorns currently compete in the Big 12 Conference.
Sierra Joy Romero is a Mexican American professional softball player. She formerly was a volunteer assistant softball coach for the Oregon Ducks softball team. She played college softball for Michigan from 2013 to 2016,where she set numerous records and was a four-time All-American. She holds the Big Ten Conference career Triple Crown,along with the total bases and slugging percentage records,simultaneously leading all of the NCAA Division I in runs scored and grand slams. She was the inaugural winner of both the espnW Softball Player of the Year in 2015 and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2016,when she also took home the Honda Sports Award Softball Player of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year awards. She is one of nine NCAA players to hit .400 with 200 RBIs,50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for her career and was named the #5 Greatest College Softball Player.

Lauren Nicole Chamberlain is an American retired softball infielder. Chamberlain played college softball for the Oklahoma Sooners softball from 2012 to 2015. A collegiate All-American,she was part of the 2013 Women's College World Series championship team. She is the NCAA Division I career leader in slugging percentage. She also holds the school and Big 12 Conference career lead in RBIs,walks,total bases and runs. She was drafted #1 and played professional softball for the USSSA Pride of National Pro Fastpitch from 2015 to 2018,winning a title in her final season in 2018.

Myles James Noble Straw is an American professional baseball center fielder in the Cleveland Guardians organization. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 12th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft,and made his major league debut with them in 2018. He has also played in MLB for the Guardians.

Dejah Monique Mulipola is an American professional softball catcher for the Oklahoma City Spark of Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). She played college softball at Arizona from 2017 to 2021 where she was twice named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-American. She has been a member of the United States women's national softball team since 2019 and helped them win a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She played in Athletes Unlimited Softball where she won the 2022 championship as the top individual points leader.
Jocelyn Aloha Pumehana Alo is an American professional softball player for the Oklahoma City Spark of the Women's Professional Fastpitch (WPF). She played college softball for the Oklahoma Sooners. Alo was named 2018 NFCA National Freshman of the Year,and named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022. She is the NCAA Division I career leader in home runs. Alo was drafted first overall by the Smash It Vipers in the inaugural WPF draft.

She played for college softball for three universities from 2017 to 2021,the San Jose State Spartans,Sacramento State Hornets and the Long Beach State 49ers. Brookeshire was a power hitter joining an elite NCAA Division I club with her career 62 home runs and 201 RBIs. She represented Team Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics where they placed fourth in their first appearance.
