The 2025 season will be the Fishers Freight's inaugural season in the Indoor Football League (IFL) and the first IFL season for the state of Indiana. The team was led by general manager and head coach Dixie Wooten.

Founding

On October 24, 2023, the Indoor Football League (IFL) announced an expansion team, tentatively known as "Indy Indoor Football", that would play at the brand-new Fishers Event Center and begin play in 2025.^[1] On December 15, the team was named the Fishers Freight.^[2]

Offseason

Coaching staff changes

On August 22, 2024, Dixie Wooten was hired as the head coach and general manager.^[3]
On September 24, 2024, Dixie Wooten III was hired as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach.^[4]
On September 24, 2024, Chuck Miller was hired as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.^[4]
On September 24, 2024, Matt Elam was hired as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach.^[4]
On January 29, 2025, Matt Elam re-signed to play with the Massachusetts Pirates effectively terminating his contract.^[5]
