2025 U.S. federal mass layoff

The 2025 U.S. federal mass layoff refers to a series of mass layoffs of United States federal civil service workers under the second presidency of Donald Trump.

Approximately 10,000 federal employees were laid off so far in 2025.^[1]^[2]

Criticism

The mass layoffs have been described as a purge.^[3]
