Sinner 4–8 Alcaraz |
The 2025 Wimbledon Championships Men's Singles final was the championship tennis match of the men's singles tournament at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. [1] First seed and world No. 1 Jannik Sinner defeated second seed and two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in four sets to win the title.
It was the 138th men's singles final that was contested at the Wimbledon Championships. The match was played at the Centre Court of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, England. [2]
The final was a rematch of the French Open final played five weeks earlier, an epic contest won by Alcaraz. Sinner and Alcaraz were the first men's pair to contest both the French Open and Wimbledon finals in the same year since Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in 2008. This was Sinner's first Wimbledon final. Alcaraz was seeking to extend his 24-match winning streak and maintain his 5–0 undefeated record in major finals. [3]
The victory marked Sinner's second title of the 2025 tennis season (after the Australian Open), his first at Wimbledon, and his fourth major title overall. He was the first Italian, male or female, to win a singles title at the Wimbledon Championships. [4]
