24 Days is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language film, directed by debutant Sreekanth.E.G and produced by Adith.U.S, who also plays the lead role. [3] The film was an official selection in several film festivals and has won many accolades [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] and had the theatrical release on 17 January 2020. The digital release of the film was through OTT service 'Saina Play'. [9]

Plot

24 Days tells the story of a group of youngsters who becomes a part of a bike rally that starts from Kanyakumari and ends at the Great Himalayas precisely in 24 days. [6]

Production

Sreekanth and Adith are officers in merchant navy and were college mates. They decided to make the film once they zeroed in the subject and communicated through email to complete the screenplay. Major funding for the movie was done by seafarers, mainly the captains and chief engineers who sailed with Adith and Sreekanth and their batchmates from their college. [3] 15 actors were selected through audition held at Trivandrum, conducted by Criyathmah and they had to undergo 3 days acting workshop under actor Santhosh Keezhattoor and Anuj Ramachandran. The principal photography of the film started on 13 August 2017 and the film was shot at the locations of Trivandrum, Kanyakumari, Waynad and Kannur, with the scenes involving Adith alone was shot with just the actor, director and cinematographer. The film was completed in a span of 45 days. [5] Adith and Sreekanth along with their friends, Rakesh, Jithin A K, Jithin K V and Davis co-founded the production house 'LetGo Productions', where ‘Let Go’ is the terminology to drop the anchor, as commanded by the captain of the ship. He also won two Kerala State Film Awards for Best Director for his films Swaham and Vanaprastham. Currently, he is the Chairman of Kerala State Film Development Corporation.

P. Subramaniam was an Indian film producer, film director, distributor, theatre owner, and mayor. He is the founder of Merryland Studio, the second film studio in Kerala.

Sukumari Indian film actress

Sukumari Amma was an Indian actress best known for her works in Malayalam and Tamil films. In a career spanning more than five decades, She has appeared in a total 996 films among which 747 Malayalam, 189 Tamil, 47 Telugu, 8 Hindi and one each in Sinhala, French, Bengali, English and Kannada films. Sukumari began acting at the age of 10. In 2003, she was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India for her contributions toward the arts. She won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Tamil film Namma Gramam (2010). Sukumari died on 26 March 2013 in Chennai, following a heart attack.

T. K. Rajeev Kumar

Thazhathupurakkal Karunakara Panicker Rajeev Kumar is a National Award-winning Indian director of Malayalam films, from Trivandrum. He is the winner of five Kerala State Film Awards for Best Film, Director, Story Writer & Script Writer, a show director, theatre actor and percussionist (Mridangam). He is a founding member and leader of the musical band Blue Birds in 1980 and Super Mimics, a comedy show in 1979. He is also the Kerala University winner of Mono Act in the University Youth Festivals 1980–1982 and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy winner for Mono Act 1979–1982.

Adoor Bhasi Indian actor (1927 - 1990)

K. Bhaskaran Nair, known by his stage name Adoor Bhasi, was an Indian actor and film director from Kerala. Adoor Bhasi was almost always cast as the man who stands next to the hero. His hilarious actions and roles became the cynosure of comic scenes in the Malayalam films of the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, especially with Ever Green Hero of Malayalam Cinema, Shri Prem Nazir.
