The 32nd Iowa Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.
The 32nd Iowa Infantry was organized at Camp Franklin, Dubuque, Iowa and mustered in for three years of Federal service on 6 October 1862.
The regiment was mustered out on 24 August 1865.
A total of 1292 men served in the 32nd Iowa at one time or another during its existence. [1] It suffered 6 officers and 101 enlisted men who were killed in action or who died of their wounds and 2 officers and 213 enlisted men who died of disease, for a total of 322 fatalities. [2]
Organized at Dubuque and mustered on 6 October 1862. Moved to Davenport, Iowa, 15–16 October; thence to St. Louis, Missouri, 21–23 November. Attached to District of Columbus, 13th Army Corps (Old), Dept. of Tennessee, to January, 1863. Expedition to Clarkston, Mo., 17–21 December (Cos. "C" and "I"). Evacuation of New Madrid 28 December, and moved to Fort Pillow, Tenn., 28–29 December. Duty there until 20 June 1863. (Co. The 32nd has a reenactment regiment in Iowa. They portray themselves as the Co B 32nd. Their home reenactment is in Mason City,IA though they operate all over Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. They can be contacted through Facebook.

Organized in August 1861, it did most of its fighting in the state of Arkansas. The regiment was in action at Cotton Plant, Helena, Bayou Fourche, Pine Bluff, Mount Elba, and Marks' Mills. One company was detached and fought in several actions in the Vicksburg campaign. The regiment was discharged in June 1865.
Battery C, 1st Missouri Light Artillery Regiment, also known as Mann's Independent Missouri Battery, was an artillery battery that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Organized between November 1861 and February 1862, Mann's Independent Battery fought at Shiloh and in the Corinth siege. After its name changed to Battery C, 1st Missouri in August 1862, it fought at Hatchie's Bridge, the Vicksburg campaign, the Meridian campaign, and the Atlanta campaign. In November 1864, the battery was assigned to the Nashville garrison; it remained there until it was mustered out in July 1865.
Battery I, 1st Missouri Light Artillery Regiment, also known as Buel's Independent Missouri Battery, was an artillery battery that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Organized in July 1861, Buell's Independent Battery fought at Shiloh and in the Corinth siege. After its name changed to Battery I, 1st Missouri Light Artillery Regiment in August 1862, it fought at Corinth, in operations supporting Streight's Raid, at Resaca, and at Rome Cross Roads before being assigned to the Nashville garrison. It fought at the Battle of Nashville and was mustered out in June 1865.
Battery K, 1st Missouri Light Artillery Regiment was an artillery battery unit from Missouri that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The 1st Missouri Light Artillery Regiment was formed 1 September 1861. Battery K fought at Fort Henry, Fort Donelson, Shiloh, 1st Corinth, and 2nd Corinth in 1862. The unit was in action at Helena and Bayou Fourche in 1863. Battery K performed garrison and occupation duty at Little Rock, Arkansas in 1863–1865 before being mustered out on 4 August 1865.

The 1st Missouri Light Artillery Regiment was formed 1 September 1861. Battery M fought at Island Number Ten, 1st Corinth, Iuka, and 2nd Corinth in 1862. The unit participated in several battles during the Vicksburg campaign in 1863. Battery M fought at Meridian, Fort DeRussy, Pleasant Hill, Yellow Bayou, and Tupelo in 1864. After serving on garrison duty in west Tennessee, the battery mustered out on 25 July 1865.
