The 34th Bachsas Awards were given by Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) to outstanding performers of the silver screen, small screen, music, dance and theatre in 2012. Swatta is a 2017 Bangladeshi romantic tragedy film. The film directed by Hashibur Reza Kallol and produced by Sohani Hossain under the banner of Taranga Entertainment. It is a story written by Sohani Hossain and a screenplay and dialogue written by Ferdous Hassan. The film features Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan and Paoli Dam in the lead roles and Kabila, Nasrin, Rina Khan, Don and many have played supporting roles in the film.

The Bangladesh Cine-Journalist Association is an organization of film journalists. It was first established in the name of Pakistan Film Journalist Association in Dhaka in East Pakistan. After the independence of Bangladesh, it was renamed as Bangladesh Cine-Journalist Association. It was revived in 1973–74 with the introduction of the Bachsas Awards. Poet, Journalist, Media Personality and Film Director Raju Alim is serving as the current president.

"Tor Premete" also known songs first stanza as "Tor Premete Ondho Holam" is a National Award-winning song from the 2017 Bangladeshi romantic-drama film Swatta sung by James. The song composed by Bappa Mazumder and choreographed by Masum Babul. The lyrics of the song written by Sohani Hossain, the producer and story writer of the film, and Shakib Khan and Paoli Dam performed in the song. The song was released on Deco's YouTube channel under the banner of Qinetic Network on March 30, 2017.

Masud Akhond is a Bangladeshi actor, director and writer. he won Bachsas Awards Best Actor for his performance in the film Pita (2013) and Jury Prize from San Francisco International Film Festival in 2013 documentary Slave Queen.
