Tareque Masud was a Bangladeshi independent film director, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist. He first found success with the films Muktir Gaan (1995) and Matir Moina (2002), for which he won three international awards, including the International Critics' FIPRESCI Prize, in the Directors' Fortnight at 2002 Cannes Film Festival. The film became Bangladesh's first film to compete for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Matir Moina is a 2002 Bengali War-drama film was written and directed by Tareque Masud. It was his debut feature film. Based on Tareque's story the screenplay was co-written by Tareque and Catherine Masud. In the film, Tareque's childhood experience is revealed against the backdrop of 1969 Mass uprising in East Pakistan on the eve of Bangladesh Liberation War. The film stars Nurul Islam Bablu, Russell Farazi, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Rokeya Prachy, Soaeb Islam and Lameesa R. Reemjheem in the lead role. It is considered as one the best Bangladeshi films of 21st century.
Tauquir Ahmed is a Bangladeshi architect and actor, turned director in both television and cinema. His films won many international and national awards including Bangladesh National Film Awards in the Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Story categories for the films Joyjatra (2004) and Oggatonama (2016).
Kazi Sharmin Nahid Nupur, known by her stage name Shabnur, is a Bangladeshi film actress. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film Dui Noyoner Alo (2005).

Belal Khan is a Bangladeshi singer, songwriter and music composer. Belal Khan is born in Nalua village of Sakhipur in Tangail district. He was awarded 39th Bangladesh National Film Awards (2014) for Best Music Composition in 2016 by the Government of Bangladesh for his music composition in the film Nekabborer Mohaproyan (2014). He also has won the 45th Bangladesh National Film Awards (2020) as the Best Music Director for the film Bishshash Jodi Jayre.
Masud Pathik is a Bangladeshi filmmaker, poet and lyricist. His feature films Nekabborer Mohaproyan (2014) won seven and Maya: The Lost Mother (2019) won eight Bangladesh National Film Awards. Individually, he won the Best Lyrics and Best Story awards. For his poetry, he won the 2013 HSBC Kali O Kalam award for his poem Ekaki Jomin.
Mohiuddin Faroque was a Bangladeshi art director, production designer and actor. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Art Direction seven times for the films Bosundhora (1977), Dumurer Phool (1978), Pita Mata Santan (1991), Padma Nadir Majhi (1993), Dukhai (1997), Meghla Akash (2001) and Obujh Bou (2010). He died on April 17, 2020.
