3G Studios, Inc. is an independent video game development studio with a range of titles available on traditional consoles, iPhone applications and social gaming platforms. Founded in 2006, 3G Studios is based out of Reno, Nevada and has been known to collaborate with other companies in the game development industry.

Reno, Nevada City in Nevada, United States

Reno is a city in the northwest section of the U.S. state of Nevada, approximately 22 miles (35 km) from Lake Tahoe. Known as "The Biggest Little City in the World", Reno is known for its casino industry. Reno is the county seat of Washoe County. The city sits in a high desert river valley at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and its downtown area occupies a valley informally known as the Truckee Meadows. The city is named after Union Major General Jesse L. Reno, who was killed in action during the American Civil War at the Battle of South Mountain on Fox's Gap.

History

3G Studios was founded in 2006 by James Kosta and several key employees from BattleBorne Entertainment, which produced Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers for the PlayStation 2 in 2005. In 2006, 3G Studios worked with MTV to create Stacked with Daniel Negreanu for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). In 2007, 3G Studios launched SWAT: Target Liberty for the PSP and also collaborated with Harmonix to release Rock Band .

<i>Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers</i> 2005 video game

Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers is a single player based top down action role-playing video game set in World War II. The game was released on November 21, 2005 in the US. It was published by SouthPeak Games and was developed by American studio BattleBorne Entertainment. The game was originally going to be published by Acclaim Entertainment, but the company went bankrupt and the games release got delayed.

PlayStation 2 sixth-generation and second home video game console developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment

The PlayStation 2 is a home video game console developed and marketed by Sony Computer Entertainment. It was first released in Japan on March 4, 2000, in North America on October 26, 2000, and in Europe and Australia in November 2000, and is the successor to the PlayStation, as well as the second video game console in the PlayStation brand. As a sixth-generation console, the PS2 competed with Sega's Dreamcast, Nintendo's GameCube, and Microsoft's Xbox.

In 2008, 3G Studios published Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009 , working directly with the fitness guru, Jillian Michaels herself. By March 2009, the game sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S. [1] and over 1,240,000 copies worldwide.[ citation needed ]

At the end of 2009, 3G Studios launched a handful of iPhone games in the App Store developing with what has been branded as 3G's Rocket Powered Mobile Technology: Zombeat, [2] The Deep, [3] Bloodlines: The Alexa Holmes Chronicles, [4] and Skate or Die. [5]

In 2010, 3G developed one of the first "Social Shooters"[ citation needed ] on Facebook, Brave Arms . [6] In 2011, 3G made another social application, The Dating Game, [7] available on Facebook, MySpace, Friendster and Bebo.
