Fawad Tariq Alam is a Pakistani cricketer and actor who plays for Sindh and the Pakistan national cricket team. He made his international debut for Pakistan in May 2007. He returned to Pakistan's Test team after a gap of 88 Tests and more than 10 years, this being the second longest gap by a Pakistani in Test cricket after Younis Ahmed's 104 Tests gap. He was surprisingly overlooked from being selected to the Pakistan test cricket team for over a decade despite being a prolific run scorer in domestic first-class matches. The Operation Rah-e-Nijat was a strategic offensive military operation by the unified command of Pakistan Armed Forces against the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and their extremist allies in the South Waziristan area of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas that began on June 19, 2009; a major ground-air offensive was subsequently launched on October 17. It became the integral part of the war in Western fronts which led to the encirclement and destruction of Taliban forces in the region, although the Taliban leadership escaped to lawless areas of neighboring Afghanistan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Operation Zarb-e-Azb</span> Joint-military operation involving Pakistan against armed insurgent groups

Operation Zarb-e-Azb was a joint military offensive conducted by the Pakistan Armed Forces against various militant groups, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, al-Qaeda, Jundallah and Lashkar-e-Islam. The operation was launched on 15 June 2014 in North Waziristan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as a renewed effort against militancy in the wake of the 8 June attack on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, for which the TTP and the IMU claimed responsibility. As of 14 July 2014, the operation internally displaced about 929,859 people belonging to 80,302 families from North Waziristan.

The Pakistan national cricket team toured Sri Lanka in January 1976 and played six matches including two internationals against the Sri Lankan national cricket team. As Sri Lanka had not then achieved Test status, the internationals are classified as first-class matches. Both games were played at the Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu Stadium in Colombo. Pakistan were captained by Intikhab Alam and Sri Lanka by Anura Tennekoon. Sri Lanka won the first by 4 wickets and Pakistan won the second by 4 wickets

The 2022 international cricket season was from May 2022 to September 2022. 15 Tests, 71 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 63 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) matches, including the 2022 Asia Cup, were played in this season. In women's international cricket, one women's Test match, 18 Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and 144 Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is) were played in this season. Included among the T20I/WT20I matches were a number of series involving associate nations.
