The Bangladesh Awami League, often simply called the Awami League or AL, is one of the major political parties in Bangladesh. The oldest existing political party in the country, Awami League successfully lead Bangladesh to the independence. One of the two most dominant parties in the country, along with its archrival Bangladesh Nationalist Party, it has been the ruling party since 2009, and has since been described as authoritarian.
Abul Hasnat Muhammad Qamaruzzaman was a Bangladeshi politician, government minister and a leading member of the Awami League. A member of the Mujibnagar Government, Qamaruzzaman was murdered along with Syed Nazrul Islam, Muhammad Mansur Ali and Tajuddin Ahmed in the jail killings in Dhaka Central Jail on 3 November 1975 by a group of army officers on the instruction of President Mostaq.

Jahangir Kabir Nanak is a Bangladesh Awami League politician. He is the incumbent Minister of Textiles and Jute of Bangladesh and the incumbent Member of Parliament representing the Dhaka-13 constituency since January 2024. Nanak is also Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League. He was the president of the Bangladesh Jubo League and General Secretary of the Bangladesh Chhatra League.

Zahangir Alam is a former mayor of Gazipur City Corporation, an Awami League politician and businessman. Aligned with the Bangladesh Awami League, he was elected as the second mayor of the Gazipur City Corporation in July 2018. He is the managing director of Honourable Textile Composite Ltd and Z Alam Apparels. He was the general secretary of Gazipur metropolitan Awami League until he was expelled by Awami League central working committee on 19 November 2021. Jahangir was pardoned and got back his Awami League Membership on 1 January 2023. The LGRD Ministry suspended Alam on 25 November 2021 from the mayor post of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) on the allegations of illegal land grabbing, not compensating people after taking over land for development and working against the public interest.
Shafiqul Islam Shimul is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Natore-2 constituency since 2014.
Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa is a Bangladeshi politician, and current City Mayor Of Rangpur. He was elected as mayor of the Rangpur City Corporation in 2017 city election by defeating Awami League Candidate and then sitting mayor Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu. He is the president of Rangpur Jatiyo Party City unit and also a presidium member of Jatiyo Party(Ershad). Earlier, he also served as Rangpur Jatiya Party (JP) general secretary.

The 2023 Rajshahi City Corporation election was an election in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, that was held on 21 June 2023 to elect the next mayor & councillors of Rajshahi. In this election, Awami League candidate achieved a landslide victory.
The 2018 Barishal City Corporation election was an election in Barisal, Bangladesh, held on 30 July 2018 to elect the next Mayor of Barisal. Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah was elected as second mayor of the Barishal City Corporation in August 2018.
