Cui Jian is a Beijing-based Chinese singer-songwriter, trumpeter and guitarist. Affectionately called "Old Cui", he pioneered Chinese rock music. For this distinction Cui Jian is often labeled "The Father of Chinese Rock".

Wolfgang William Van Halen is an American musician. The son of actress Valerie Bertinelli and guitarist Eddie Van Halen, he performed alongside his father as the bassist for the rock band Van Halen from 2006 to 2020. He also performed with the heavy metal band Tremonti from 2012 to 2016. After his father's death in 2020 led to the disbandment of Van Halen, he began to focus on his solo project Mammoth WVH, in which he performs all instruments and vocals. His project's self-titled debut was released in 2021.
Dennis Rea is an American guitarist, author, and music event organizer. He was a member of the electronic music group Earthstar in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He leads the progressive rock quintet Moraine and worked with Jeff Greinke in Land. Other significant involvements have included Flame Tree, Identity Crisis, Iron Kim Style, Savant, Stackpole, Tempered Steel, and Zhongyu.
Hard is a Hungarian hard rock supergroup formed in late 2004 in Budapest, Hungary by József Kalapács and Gábor Mirkovics. The rest of the band consisted of guitarist Zsolt Csillik, keyboardist Dénes Makovics and drummer Zoltán Váry.
Sear Bliss is a Hungarian atmospheric black metal band from Szombathely, formed in 1993 by bassist, vocalist and now also keyboardist András Nagy. Apart from the usual heavy metal instruments they adopted synthesizer and wind instruments in their songs. The Netherlands' leading metal magazine, Aardschok awarded Sear Bliss debut album Phantoms the title of "CD Of The Month". It was the first time in the magazine's history that the award went to a black metal album.
The Peking All-Stars were a rock band formed in Beijing in 1979 by a number of foreigners then resident in the Chinese capital, the same year as the first Chinese rock band, Wan Li Ma Wang (万里马王) was formed. The band was formed by Graham Earnshaw, on guitar and vocals, Chris, a Brazilian drummer, and Richard Thwaites, an Australian bass player who doubled as the China correspondent of the Australian Broadcasting Commission. It played one of the first rock concerts in China at a university campus hall in Beijing in late summer of 1979. Their performance at Beijing's Teacher's College in 1981 was commemorated by a photograph in the book China After Mao by Liu Heung Shing.
Rock 'N' Roll on the New Long March is a 1989 album by Cui Jian, the so-called "Father of Chinese Rock". It is technically his second album as an album called Return of the Prodigal was released in 1984 in Hong Kong and Taiwan only, but he considers it his first and does not acknowledge the previous one. It is Cui's most successful album, and is considered China's first rock album. It also features "Nothing to My Name", the song that made Cui famous and which is considered to mark the beginning of rock music in China. Cui made the album in cooperation with the band ADO, and it was the only album he released while he was still with them.
Wisdom was a Hungarian power metal band from Budapest. Formed in autumn 2001, the group was known for its practice of basing each song on a well-known quotation. Many of the band's lyrics and all of the album covers center on the story of an old man, a cult figure called Wiseman.
Kamila Nasr is a Canadian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Montreal, Quebec. She is the feature subject of director Terry Stone's 2007 film Virtuoso, a Canadian documentary on the Theremin. In September 2012, she released her solo album Paint the Moon under her stage name Kamila and as an independent label.
Black Panther is a seminal Chinese rock band founded in 1987. It was originally fronted by one of China's alternative music pioneers Dou Wei. The band reunited and released a new album in 2013. "Who We Are", was produced by Jamii Szmadzinski. The band's best known songs include "Don't Break My Heart", "Shameful"《无地自容》, "Mirage"《海市蜃楼》, "I'm Afraid Of Your Crying"《怕你为自己流泪》, "Spirit Of Light" 《光芒之神》， "No Right, No Wrong" 《无是无非》，"Our Generation" 《我们这一代》, "Without you"《没有你》, "I Don't Want To Say Goodbye" and "Lonely Soul"《孤独的灵魂》 etc. Black Panther is represented by Rock Forward Entertainment.
A Tribute to Teresa Teng - A Rocking Farewell (告别的摇滚) is a tribute album released in July 1995 on Beijing-based label Bamboo Book Culture (竹书文化), shortly after Teresa Teng's death on May 8, 1995. It features ten of Teng's songs covered by several of Beijing's most well-known first-generation rock bands. The album is a sincere tribute to Teng as one of the first pop singers to be heard in China.

The album is lauded as the first Chinese metal album, combining heavy metal and progressive rock with traditional Chinese folk styles, poetry, and Beijing opera vocal techniques.
