Air Vice Marshal AHM Fazlul Haque BBP, BSP, ndu, afwc, psc, GD(P) is a retired Bangladeshi 2 Star Air Force officer [1] who has served as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations). [2] He is the founding Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University. [3] Before join BSMRAAU, he served as Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bir Shretra Matiur Rahman. [4]

Career

Haque was commissioned at Bangladesh Airforce in 1985 in General Duties (Pilot) branch. He served as the president of Shaheen Golf and Country Club Patenga (SGCCP) at 2016–17. To increase the defence cooperation initiatives with India he led a high level team which visit Indian Air Force Station Tezpur. [5] During this visit, the team witnessed low level aerobatics by the SU-30 MKI, drill display by elite GARUDS and base security exercise. In November, 2021, he led the Bangladesh Air Force to collaborate with Pacific Air Forces Director Maj Gen Nathan Wills which illustrates the importance of working together to maintain an open, safe, and secure Indo-Pacific through enduring bilateral partnerships. [6] He completed Defence Services Command and Staff Course from Mirpur, Defence Services Staff Course from Wellington, India and Armed Forces War Course from NDC, Mirpur. He has also attained Master of Science in Defence and Strategic Studies from University of Madras, India, Master of Science in Strategic Studies from National Defence University, China. Master of War Studies from National University, Bangladesh and Master of Business Administration from IBA, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. [7] He participated in three UN peacekeeping missions in UNIKOM, Kuwait, East Timor and as contingent commander in MONUSCO, DR Congo.

He was General Officer Commanding, Army Training and Doctrine Command, Mymensingh Cantonment. Prior to join ARTDOC, he was GOC of 24 Infantry Division & Area Commander of Chattogram area. Earlier, he was Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army. He was also vice chairman of Trust Bank's board of directors. He served as general officer commanding (GOC) of 55 Infantry Division & Area Commander of Jessore Area. He also served as the director of Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Bureau (CTIB) of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence. He served as Commander of 46th Independent Infantry Brigade. He also served as Additional Director General (Operations) of Rapid Action Battalion.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University is a public university in Bangladesh. It is funded by the government and is Bangladesh's first higher education institution on aerospace engineering. Its campus is in Lalmonirhat. Prior to that appointment, he was Commander of Air Base Bashar. Before that, he served as Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman in Jashore.

The 2022–23 Federation Cup was the 34th edition of the tournament, the main domestic annual top-tier clubs football competition in Bangladesh organized by Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF). The eleven participants were contest in the tournament. The tournament were played from 20 December 2022 – 30 May 2023. The winner of the tournament will earn the slot of playing Qualifying play-off of 2023–24 AFC Cup.

The 2022–23 Independence Cup, also known as Bashundhara Group Independence Cup 2022 due to sponsorship from Bashundhara Group. It was the 12th edition of the Independence Cup, the oldest official club football tournament in Bangladesh. A total of 16 teams were contested in the tournament including two coming through qualifying round.

Air Vice Marshal ASM Fakhrul Islam, OSP, GUP, ndc, afwc, psc, GD (P) is a Bangladesh Air Force officer and Incumbent Vice Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University. Prior to Join here, he was Commandant of Bangabandhu Aeronautical Centre. He also served as Air Officer Commanding(AOC) at BAF Base Zahurul Haque, Patenga, Chattogram.
