T-Shaped HR competency model

Van Vulpen and Veldsman (2022) developed what academic literature describes as the AIHR T-shaped HR professional competency model, a framework outlining future-fit competencies for HR professionals in technology-enabled workplaces. [13] The model conceptualizes HR capability development as combining broad foundational competencies, such as business acumen, data literacy, digital agility and people advocacy, with deep expertise in specific HR domains, including talent acquisition, learning and development, people analytics and organizational development.
