National Institute of Technology Calicut, formerly Regional Engineering College Calicut, is a public technical university and an institute of national importance governed by the NIT Act passed by the Parliament of India. The campus is situated 22 kilometres (14 mi) north east of Kozhikode, on the Kozhikode–Mukkam Road. It was established in 1961 and was known as Calicut Regional Engineering College (CREC) until 2002. It is one of the National Institutes of Technology campuses established by the Government of India for imparting high standard technical education to students from all over the country. NIT Calicut hosts a supercomputer on its campus, and has a dedicated nanotechnology department.
Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam, India (RIT) is a government engineering college owned and operated by the Government of Kerala. Located 14 km from Kottayam near Pampady, the institute was founded in 1991 by the Government of Kerala with a view of making it a centre of postgraduate and research studies. It was named after Shri Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India.

The School of Engineering is a college under Cochin University of Science and Technology, in Kochi (Cochin), Kerala, India. Established in 1979 for offering part-time M.Tech programmes. The school was the first in the country to introduce Information Technology as an engineering stream and is one among very few colleges in the country with a B. Tech course in Safety and Fire Engineering. The school is a Research Centre and major Consultancy Centre. Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram is a public institution established in 2007 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to pursue design and manufacturing oriented engineering education, research and to promote the competitive advantage of Indian products in global markets. National Institute of Technology Nagaland is a higher education technology institute located in Chümoukedima, Nagaland, India. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India. NIT Nagaland was set up by the Government of India in 2009, as part of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2007–2012) for imparting technical education in the state of Nagaland.
