AV8 Air was an airline based in the United Kingdom. It was established in June 2003 and started operations on 25 November 2003.
It was launched as a subsidiary of tour operator CT2 and began operations on 7 April 2004 with a long-haul flight to Cape Town using a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The company operated the 767 on a damp lease basis from Icelandair until their own Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) was granted from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Unfortunately, due to a lack of a bond, the AOC was revoked. A Boeing 757-200 aircraft was intended for use on short-haul flights to Mediterranean resorts, but due to the unsuccessful AOC application, the aircraft was only operated on a weekly check flight around Manchester. The airline ceased trading after only five months.
AV8 Air originally intended to use "PENNINE" as their ICAO callsign, but due to clashes with 'Peninne Radar' in the Manchester TMA, this was rejected.

First Choice Airways Limited was a British charter airline of European tour operator TUI Travel PLC, based in Crawley, England until its merger with Thomsonfly to form Thomson Airways in 2008. It flew to more than 60 destinations worldwide from 14 UK and Irish airports. 70% of the airline's services were operated for its parent company, rising to 85% in the summer season, with the remainder on behalf of some 120 other tour operators. It also operated scheduled year-round leisure routes to Cyprus and the resorts of Spain and Portugal.
Condor, legally incorporated as Condor Flugdienst GmbH, is a German charter airline established in 1955 with Frankfurt Airport being its main base. Condor offers scheduled flights to leisure destinations and operates, from Germany, medium-haul flights to the mediterranean basin and the Canary Islands as well as long-haul flights to destinations in Africa, Asia, North America, South America and the Caribbean. Whereas medium-haul flights are operated from many German airports, long-haul flights usually depart from Frankfurt, with a few rotations operated from Düsseldorf and Munich. Condor also operates charter flights.
ETOPS is an acronym for Extended-range Twin-engine Operations Performance Standards. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) coined the acronym for Extended Twin Operations for twin-engine aircraft operation further than one hour from a diversion airport at the one-engine inoperative cruise speed, over water or remote lands, on routes previously restricted to three- and four-engine aircraft. The ICAO issues Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS) for ETOPS, and ETOPS were extended to four-engine aircraft like the Boeing 747-8 and the terminology updated to EDTO – Extended Diversion Time Operations.
Britannia Airways was a charter airline based in the UK. It was founded in 1961 as Euravia and became the world's largest holiday airline. Britannia's main bases were at London Gatwick, London Stansted, London Luton, Cardiff, Bristol, East Midlands, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Edinburgh and Glasgow. It had its headquarters at Britannia House in Luton.
Kam Air is the largest private Afghan airline. Founded in 2003, Kam Air has seven aircraft and a workforce of over 1,200 people, operating scheduled domestic passenger services throughout Afghanistan and international services to destinations in Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. Its hub is at Kabul International Airport in the capital Kabul. Due to the collapse of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, all civilian services in the country were suspended on August 15, 2021. However Kam Air's domestic flights restarted on September 5, 2021.
XL Airways was a British low-cost charter and scheduled airline, which ceased operations when it went into administration on 12 September 2008. Its headquarters were in Crawley, West Sussex, near London Gatwick Airport. It was part of the XL Leisure Group. From its three bases at London Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow, the airline provided short-haul and long-haul charter services, predominantly to leisure destinations.
MyTravel Airways Limited was a British scheduled and charter airline with headquarters in Manchester, England. It operated worldwide holiday charter services mainly for its parent company, the MyTravel Group. The airline merged with Thomas Cook Airlines UK Limited in 2008 and was renamed Thomas Cook Airlines Limited.
Australian airExpress was a logistics company based in Melbourne, Australia. It operated freight-only services within Australia using aircraft operated by Express Freighters Australia, National Jet Systems and Pel-Air; and a fleet of land vehicles. Its main base was Melbourne Airport. Australian airExpress was absorbed into Qantas Freight during February 2013.
Air Atlanta Europe was an airline based at London Gatwick Airport, England. It provided long term wet-lease contract flights for Excel Airways, Virgin Atlantic and others, as well as ad hoc flights tailored to customer requirements.
West Atlantic UK Limited, formerly Atlantic Airlines Ltd is a British cargo airline based at East Midlands Airport. It operates contract and ad hoc cargo flights worldwide, especially within Europe as part of the West Atlantic Group. The company's fleet is composed of Boeing 737 and ATR72 aircraft. The airline specialises in the transport of dangerous goods and radioactive products and other specialist aerial work, including oil spill response, dispersant spraying and icing trials. The prime activity of the business is the supply and operating of aircraft to night-time freight integrators and consolidators and the operation of ad hoc air charters on behalf of other airlines, freight brokers and forwarders. Atlantic Airlines merged with the Swedish airline "West Air Europe" in 2008 to establish the West Atlantic Group.
Emerald Airways was an airline based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. It operated contract and ad hoc freight services throughout the UK and Europe for postal, newspaper and freight companies and passenger services to Ireland under the brand FlyJem.
DHL International Aviation ME, is an all cargo airline based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. DHL Aviation EEMEA B.S.C.(c) is the Designated Cargo Carrier for Bahrain. It employs 265 airline professionals to dispatch, fly and maintain a fleet of B767 freighters operating under a Bahraini AOC. Their mission is to provide safe, on time and reliable air services to their customers. It is wholly owned by Deutsche Post and operates the group's DHL-branded parcel and express services in the Middle East and North Africa, including [[Afghanistan, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, UAE and Pakistan as part of DHL Aviation (Global). Its main base is Bahrain International Airport. Further growth is expected with the introduction of Intercontinental Operations beginning on the 14th September 2021 with the inaugural flight to Hong Kong and the introduction of additional Boeing 767-300's.
Virgin Samoa, formerly Polynesian Blue, was the flag carrier of Samoa. It was owned by Virgin Australia Holdings (49%), the Government of Samoa (49%) and Grey Investment Group (2%). Polynesian Blue took over the long haul flights which were operated by Polynesian Airlines. In December 2011 Polynesian Blue was renamed Virgin Samoa. It ceased operations on 12 November 2017.
Janet, sometimes called Janet Airlines, is the unofficial name given to a highly classified fleet of passenger aircraft operated for the United States Department of the Air Force as an employee shuttle to transport military and contractor employees. The purpose is to pick up the employees at their home airport, and take them to their place of work. Then, in the afternoon, they take the employees back to their home airports. The airline mainly serves the Nevada National Security Site, from a private terminal at Las Vegas's McCarran International Airport.
UK International Airlines was a British airline based in Sheffield, England, United Kingdom. UK International Airlines Limited held a United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority Type A Operating Licence permitting it to carry passengers, cargo and mail on aircraft with 20 or more seats, for a very short period of time.
Norwegian Air International was an Irish airline and fully integrated subsidiary of Norwegian Air Shuttle, using its corporate identity. It operated flights to destinations in Europe and the Middle East from various European bases, and was headquartered at Dublin Airport. Between 2017 and 2019, it also offered services from Europe to the United States and Canada. In the years following, its aircraft were gradually transferred to Swedish sister airline Norwegian Air Sweden and its parent company, until the last of its aircraft were transferred by April 2021, with its operations also taken over by the Swedish airline.
CargoLogicAir, Ltd. (CLA) is a British cargo airline with its headquarters at London Heathrow Airport. After the Global Supply Systems' contract with British Airways World Cargo was terminated in January 2014, CLA effectively became the only British all-cargo airline, absorbing some of the Global Supply Systems staff. It received its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the UK Civil Aviation Authority in December 2015 and commenced operations soon after. The airline's fleet of two Boeing 747 aircraft operates scheduled and chartered freight services on routes between the UK, Asia, Africa and Americas.
Norwegian Air UK Ltd was a British airline and a fully integrated subsidiary of low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle, using its corporate identity. The airline operated Boeing 787-9 aircraft on scheduled services between Europe, Asia, and the Americas from its base at Gatwick Airport, south of London. In January 2021, Norwegian Air Shuttle announced it would cease all long-haul operations, which included those of Norwegian Air UK.
Azurair GmbH, trading as Azur Air or Azur Air Germany, was a German leisure airline headquartered in Düsseldorf. It was founded in 2016 by Turkish-Dutch tour operator Anex Tourism Group as part of an expansion into the German leisure market and ceased operations in September 2018.
Norwegian Air Sweden AOC AB is a Swedish airline and fully integrated subsidiary of low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle, using its corporate identity. The airline operates Boeing 737-800 aircraft from bases in European countries outside of Norway on behalf of its parent company, with all aircraft registered in Sweden.
