A Masterpiece of Murder is a 1986 American TV movie starring Bob Hope and Don Ameche.

A retired private eye teams up with a former jewel thief to solve a murder. Dan Dolan(Hope) had become famous for being the officer who originally arrested Frank Aherne(Ameche) and sent him to prison.But in old age their positions are reversed. Dolan is down and out and Aherne has become wealthy by playing off his image as a gentleman thief.
